KW means Kalendarwoche - or week of the year

Hello

I have ordered something small but vital from Ikea and they are delivering it COD by post. The confirmation email I received from them said "Delivery probably in "KW":27"

Lieferung voraussichtlich in KW: 27
Die Lieferung erfolgt durch:: Post

What is KW short for, its not a term I'm familiar with?

KW = Kalenderwoche. ( calender week )

Usually KW1 ist the first week in January, but it can also start end of december...
At the moment we are in KW26... look here
