Hello all,
This week we'll go to the Löwenbräu keller at Stiglmierplatz.
This is one of the few beergardens that you can get the evening sun and a Ubahn.
If the weather takes a turn for the worst on Friday, I'll phone and book a table inside.
I'm aiming to be there at 6 but as usual I could be persuaded to turn up early, probably with Dylan to begin with.

Hmmm, they're probably selling fest beer by now, this could be dangerous! See you there.

Isn't that illegal? Its not O'zapft yet! (What ever that means)
If you ask for a glass of O'zapft, you'll probably get orange jiuce.

Well they're selling it in the shops, I know, I had one last night and very nice it was too!

Maybe, just maybe, depending on if it stays out side weather ... Do they have a playground?

I'll be there if the weather holds out. Maybe the last good Biergarten day this year !
CitizenSmith
Sep 13 2007, 1:39 pm
A few of us will be there at 5pm.
There is no playground as such but my 2 1/2 year old will be there for the first hour, they can't seem to get enough gravel.

Is it OK for newbies to come along for a sociable one or two? If so how will I recognise the Toytown table?
Owain Glyndwr
Sep 14 2007, 2:30 pm
newbies are never welcome to any TT events. If they turn up they are beaten away with baseball bats and pelted with rotting kebabs.
Uncle Nick
Sep 14 2007, 2:31 pm
Just look for a bunch of English speaking people and inquire about Toytown, the usual reply would be "No, but there's another English speaking group over there."

Just look out for Ian's infamous ORANGE FLAG!
CitizenSmith

My Mobile number is 01733510658.
We will be sitting down the back, I'll have a 2.5 year old with curly blond hair with me till 6.
Newbies are welcome but by the sounds of things I'd try to avoid Owain Glyndwr, I think he's having a bad day.

Here's a piccy of some happy gardeners of beer from last night. Once again the service at this beergarden was terrible, really unfriendly and bad tempered. Until I asked the waitress if it was possible to be more friendly to her customers and suddenly she came over all pleasant. The last time we went here the service was bad as well and I think we should strike this place off our list! Munich has so many good beergardens, I don't see why we should give this lot any more of our money!
I dont understand. Were you sitting in the service area? Was there no self service open? I usually fetch my own from inside at the
Löwenbräukeller if there is no outside Schänke.
Allershausen
Sep 15 2007, 10:19 pm
Yes we were and no the self service place wasn't open. I definitely will not be going there again!

Did anyone pickup a pair of sunglasses last Friday? Dylan is missing them terribly.
This
Friday evening, you
naughty afterworkers, is a good time for a cocktail or a beer at the
Ysenegger! We'll be sitting outside in the sunshine at the start. I'll be there from about
18:00 ish. But come earlier if you like the sun. We'll go inside later where I have booked for 20 people.
Newcomers welcome. And if you don't know anyone, call my mobile when you get there or look out for the orange card! I booked the tables in the name:
Humphrey Bogart so you can ask the waiter too.
For those with a
cocktail bent, see their
Cocktail list. Talking of bent, why is the lady in their logo bending over? Hmmm.
Intelligence test: Name any Humphrey Bogart quote.

Cos I´m right behind her about to kick in her back doors?
"Down boy!"
Be gentle with her. She will be bringing your Pina Colada with one of them little umbrellas in it.

After a loooooong week, I'll be there at 6ish, in the sun, feet up, drinking a cocktail...
There will be quite a few first timers and newcomers coming along this week. Welcome to you all!
And if you don't know anyone, we'll be on the lookout. You might spot our orange "Friday Beergarden" card. Or call or SMS me when you get there 0172 8227752. You can also ask the waiter who Humphrey Bogart is. As I will not be wearing my famous hat!
It'll be a good chance to practice for the Wiesn! (aka. Oktoberfest)

Dunno about a sign, but you have to utter the secret password - which I am not allowed to reveal online. I think there's also a secret handshake, but I haven't quite mastered it yet. Every time I try it, I end up on the floor.
