We're expecting a big crowd this Friday
The
Augustinerkeller Biergarten in Arnulfstr is many peoples favourite. We'll have 3+ tables on
Friday from
6pm. (Watch out for posts from those gagging to get there earlier!)
Newbies are always made welcome. But come along with your friends if you are shy and don't want to walk up to a bunch of strangers. "
excuse me are you..."
A good chance to meet a selection from Toytown old and new. Boys and Girls.
To Find us...
- If you enter the side entrance we'll be in the middle of the long tables on your right. Approximately 6 rows away from the side fence.
- If you come in through the front, Arnulfstr, entrance, walk through the middle of the beergarden till you've passed the beer self service on your right. We'll be on the left of the path Halfway between the Steckerlfish grill and the kids play area.
- I'll have the familiar TT Orange Flag up to help you find us.
- Or call or SMS my mobile number: 0172 8227752
- See our exact location by zooming in to my Google Maps link
Ian
Transport: S Bahn
Hackerbrueke or Tram 17
Wet weather we'll be inside the Bars or just outside under the covers.

Why not try the

That's not going to be easy, I suspect you've visited an awful lot of
beer gardens in the years you've been here. Hmmm, I think I could have phrased that better, but you know what I mean!
I'm keeping a keen eye on the weather this week. We may need shelter. Makes the decision trickier.

Aug 1 2007, 9:57 pm
oh alright then, a shelter which I haven't been to before (since as Mr. A. Hausen rightly points out, I've been to most beergardens...but shelters! ah now there's a whole new world)

I sent you a list of place last week, pick one and go..
PS: the new Beergarden at the berg, doesn't seem to be up to par yet. So I'd leave it out,

I know it's not "new" but what about
Spektakel? - it's got inside and out seating and we haven't been there for a long while. There's even Ayurveda (Indian restuarant) just down the street for those intrepid curry addicts who need their fix after drinks on Friday night (or every night in LM's case

)

now see, there's one I've never been to, despite its proximity to my place.
Panama, after those one or three I suspect you'll be in dire need of a curry (and a beer)

Dear All,
Due to the abominable weather forecast, we have decided to go along with madgibson's suggestion, since its a good indoor/outdoor option.
I have booked 20 seats in Spektakel, Pfeufer str. 32. See the
Spektakel WebsiteIf it’s Sunny we will be in the beergarden out the back, look for the orange flag otherwise we will be inside; probably right at the back.
If you have problems finding us, call or message Ian (01728227752) or Gwyn(01733510658)
Spektakel is near
Harras U/S-bahn and
Implerstr Ubahn is also convenient for the busses 53, 131 und 134 which run along Pfeuferstraße.
Google MapsThe buses are easy or you could walk form Harras which is less than half a Golden gate bridge away or if you have problems seeing distances in GGBs then about 333 Giraffe's Necks
See the
MVV site for travel details here is an example from:
Marien platzSee you all there

The TT info on
Spektakel says:
QUOTE
The restaurant interior is themed to a rural Bavarian barn / village square idea. Two or three times a night, a virtual "storm" passes through, with lights flickering, the distant sound of thunder, a brief hard rain, and the sounds of water running along gutters. As if you were in an Alpine hut during a passing real storm.
That sounds quite something. Maybe I'll try to make it to this. It's even on my U-Bahn line, although I don't usually venture further south than
Sendlinger Tor, as I've heard there are alligators in the swamps down there in the South.
What time are you lot going to be there?
Allershausen
Aug 3 2007, 12:40 pm
I should be there about 6:30.

I'm confused - I thought Giraffe's Necks were only used as a measure of
vertical distance. For horizontal distances, especially in wet, swampy weather like today, you need Alligator Tails. Or what is the conversion factor from Alligator Tails to Golden Gate Bridges?
Don't you know anything about science? For length its double decker buses and for area its football pitches! Tuh!

Aug 3 2007, 4:56 pm
Hang on - I think Mr Smith may be implying something far more dark and sinister. If half a Golden Gate Bridge is equal to 333 Giraffe Necks, then one GGB corresponds to
666 Giraffe Necks - the Number of the Beast!

But now he says the giraffes, i.e. the Beast, are/is dead? Hell and damnation, I was looking forward to joining you guys, and now I have to get out my Bible and study the Book of Revelation to find out if the world is going to come to an end tonight.
Ooh, this could turn into the first ever religious debate / battle / flame-war on the Biergarten thread! Come on people! Fight! Fight!
Holy Moly! Is this summer?
Lets go to the
Lisboa for beer and cocktails on
Friday. I've booked tables from
19:00.
Its in Breisacherstr. 22 (in
Haidhausen)
With lovely Portuguese food and a nice atmosphere to take your mind off the rain and foot in mouth disease.
Newcomers, as always, welcome. Call my mobile phone if you are not sure where we are.

I'll try to make it to Lisboa. If things go smoothly at work tomorrow, I'll have a bit of something to celebrate, which even has a tenuous connection with Portugal. And it's in my 'hood, so it all kinda fits together nicely.

Hello,
The forecast for Friday is 16° with rain.
I have booked a table at
Wirtshaus in der Au, Lillien str. 51 for 7pm.
If you’ve not been there before, it’s a light roomy place with high ceilings and an open fire, good food and Bavarian service (make of that what you will). If by any chance the rain holds off we can sit outside.
It’s easy to get to, the 52 bus goes down Schweigerstraße from Marien Platz, the trams go across Zweibruckenstr. Or you could walk from
Isartor or
Rosenheimerplatz Sbahn
Google Maps Gwyn
If you have problems finding us SMS or call me on 01733510658
Dont forget to request that the Sub-heading needs to be changed to "7pm Friday 17.Aug.2007 @ Wirtshaus in der Au"
