What's the recommended attire for the ladies then?
sea-king
Hi Pam, naughty stuff would be good wink.gif , but Hawaiian Shirts much better. How you doing? blink.gif
GreenTea
Hawaiian shirts better than naughty? Or did you mean Hawaiian skirts? You know, those flimsy grass skirt thingies? All it takes is a bit of a breeze...

QUOTE (sea-king @ Jul 18 2007, 9:00 pm) *
But wear a feckin shirt!!!
I SAID SHIRT! Not a skirt, that´ll be me!

Ooh, you really want to do that? Full Hawaiian Highland grass-skirt regalia ... let Bavarians discover the truth about what a Scotsman wears underneath ph34r.gif
sea-king
Now that is an idea, Scottish grass-skirts. Thank you most kindly, huala skirts also most welcome. be they male or female. smile.gif

Darkknight
Your right, its too much of a schlep..
sea-king
Just tink of the thirst you´ll have when xyou get up there.
Oh by the way ladies, I´m alone then! wink.gif
CitizenSmith
We have just done a series of interesting but out of the way BGs, we were planning a more central one this week.
BBC.co.uk/weather says 36°C Friday
sea-king
Olympia is pretty central, but the shirts man think of the shirts.!
sarabyrd
It is called the Olympia Alm, FYI. Bring your own dog, they love them there. Matter of fact, it is one of the most pleasant places around, you can even take your beer and quaff lying on a blanket in the grass. To be remembered for the next "off the beaten track" venue.
P.S. @ sea-king: Scogs' Hawaiian shirt with the skulls and flames beats any attire you might possess all hollow.
sea-king
Is this a contest now, worst shirt wins a beer. blink.gif
DDBug
SB - I don't know, I've seen sea-king's shirt, and it's bad. Really, really bad.

Its a walk in the park! See Google Map location
Petuelring U3 is the closest U-Bahn. But you could also dust of the old bicycle. It'd do you good.

Traveler
Not sure if I'll make it or not, but here is their website with directions how to get there...

Olympia Alm
Jeeves
Olympiazentrum must be nearer than Petuelring. You'd certainly not have the straight bit along the road.
Not that I'm coming, just thought I'd stick my oar in.
Allershausen
So is this definite then? Is this the chosen venue?
ian
Yes. It seems so. No discussion (on or offline). We didnt want to start an argument. And, as they serve beer there, and the weather is looking more reliable now, then why not? He didn't sate a time so I'll say 6pm onwards.
sarabyrd
I might just turn up, I have the day off and Scogs probably won't be back from Home, Scotland and Glory before nightfall. Does anyone want to borrow his shirt? I refuse to touch it, much less wear it.

Grand, I'll be there! smile.gif
CitizenSmith
Me too.
GreenTea
In case anyone's worried about the climb, this place isn't right up at the top of the Olympiaberg. You don't need mountain boots, crampons, ice picks or the physical condition of Reinhold Messner. It's just a leisurely stroll up a very gentle slope.

I might stroll along (yes, I know, I always say that). I'll have a rummage through my wardrobe and see if I can find something really garish and exotic.
sea-king
I will be there from 4:30 onwards smile.gif ( It´s FridayFFS) I don´t think you´ll need a description of me, just sunglasses and eye drops. blink.gif
ruapehu
I'll try and make this too - sounds great smile.gif
sea-king
Hope the weather stays nice today, I hate getting drunk and wet blink.gif
sarabyrd
Only 20% probability here. Damn, I don't want to miss this one but Scogs is flying in app. 4pm.
Allershausen
We'll be there all evening, I'm sure he'll be thirsty after all that travelling! smile.gif
yankontherun
As long as I can get away with a tame shirt. Forgive us newbies whose stuff is still in storage! No bicycle option either...Ian I will try my best not to get lost this time.
planetmoni
i can highly recommend walking up the olympic hill for sunset.
ian
Yes we'll get the sun till much later being fairly high up.
The forecast still looks good. I expect it will crash bang wallop again in the middle of the night. Anyone left up there at that time might get a dowsing. But would they care?
ian
It seems that parts of Germany ie Stuttgart and northwards are about to get a hammering. Munich, on the other hand will remain basking! BASKING I tell you!
See Rain Radar Film
Kat
I'm undecided. The weather is great, and the Olympia Alm place is pastoral, but it's also summer sales time...
To sauf or shop? That's the question... happy.gif
plastic
Zunächst Kaufen, danach Saufen ;-)
Allershausen
The shops will be open tomorrow!
Traveler
Looks like I'm going to make it after all, Hawaian shirt and all !
Carm
going to have to pass this week, got a date with my pool!
bluedave
Sounds like it's waaaaayyyy the wrong side of the river for this soldier wink.gif

having had a run-in with a gravel track on my bike, I am going to have a more sedate(d) evening licking my wounds. Shame, in all my years in MUC I have never once been to the Olympiaalm - maybe next time - have fun smile.gif
Darkknight
Ah.. Don't be a wimp.. Come on out.. Pour some beer on the wounds.. They'll heal faster biggrin.gif
Allershausen
I'm leaving work in 10 minutes and should be there between 4:30 and 5. Just got to put on my climbing gear! biggrin.gif
coolerking

Taken from oozen's quoted solution:
That proof looks a bit flawed, because at this point he disregards any sum between 101 and 200, where there are still 30 possible solutions that are not considered further...

I'm aiming to leave in the next 30mins or so too. see you about 5

Pour some beer on the wounds..

That'd be internal wounds biggrin.gif
Sound advice I am sure, but I shall hobble to a cinema and feel sorry for myself in the dark.
ian
Sounds like you got off lightly. My bike prang cost me 2 weeks in the hospital. They did serve beer in the hospital however!:-)

I'll be heading there in about 15 minutes. (taking it gently of the bike)

Hey! shall we have a bike race at the end of the evening down the Olympia hill on the gravel track? Winner gets surgery with general anesthetic!
leisure suit larry
Looks kinda rainy and stormy now. Any Plan B?

Cheers from wimpy Larry
GreenTea
I'm kinda glad I didn't set off for the Olympia Alm at 4 pm now. Storm clouds gathering, and quite a bit of thunder growling in the distance. I somehow had a feeling today wasn't going to be a good day for it.

Never heard it called that before . . . wink.gif
Darkknight
Well it rained but we were safe under the umbrella, so nothing to worry about. The suns out now and the tables are again dry, so come on out and have a drink.

I highly recommend the slope towards Lerchenauerstrasse. Messed up my right knee big style.
Scogs had to hook up to work when we got home, we couldn't join the happy crew. Betcha got real wet later on, though.

Not really, you know they have these big things called umbrellas.. biggrin.gif
coolerking
good evening but try getting a taxi when its pissing down with rain
ian
Yes, I had a great natter too. There were the usual scattering of newbies. And a mix of USAnians and UKnians who all seemed to get on well.
We were dry there. But it was the getting home that was the wet bit.
