Jeeves
You mentioned that you had booked some cocktails.
DDBug
It's not the cocktails that would entice me, but the charming company. laugh.gif
madgibson
Mmm, not exactly on the shopping route but the cocktails are tempting!
pjm
Might have to go for a drink first and then go shopping at 11pm
Allershausen
Or, just go Shopping on Saturday! wink.gif *

*We're not in communist Russia, the shops will still have stuff in them tomorrow.
leonardo
At what time?
Allershausen
Usually anytime after 6pm.
GreenTea
Well, it's been looking all day as if it might rain, grey clouds and all that, but not actually raining. Is this the "dry rain" that Citizen Smith was going on about when he said "not just your ordinary wet stuff"?

If it does rain, will we get all dry?
Owain Glyndwr
this "dry rain" of yours was fairly wet this morning.
GreenTea
I'm worried about what happens when wet raindrops and dry raindrops collide. "Rain" and "anti-rain" particles. Will all the world's weather be annihilated? unsure.gif
Allershausen
On my way home tonight I heard that the U1 wasn't running because of smoke in the mezzanine floor at the Hauptbahnhof, has any body heard anything about it? Is the U1 running again?
GreenTea
See? Just like I said. It's all that dry rain drying stuff out and reacting with wet water and causing fires. Bloody fizzicists. mad.gif
CincyInDE
I don't see anything on mvv or mvg websites except aok messages, but can one really believe anything one reads on the internet?

as i was headed into the city they annouced that now all the Ubahns are now stopping at Hauptbahnhof... that was at 3:30
Jeeves
No, I haven't heard any smoke.
Anyway, if I'm going to have to walk to Neuhausen I'd better get on my bike.
As they say.
I wouldn't want them to sell out of cocktails before I got there.

Yeah, that's about the time I heard it too. I'm about to set off to get the S-bahn from Freising and normally I would go to the Hauptbahnhof and get the U1, but I think it may be better if I get off at Donnersburgerbrücke and catch the bus. Maybe Bluedave will be on it! laugh.gif
Jeeves
That would be the obvious alternative route yes. Or just walk the 15 mins from Donnersberger cool.gif
Arsenal
Good stuff!!! I like the beer garden thing
CitizenSmith
Donnersburgerbrücke and take the 53 bus to Rotkreutz platz. It also goes from Hohenzollern or Munchner Freiheit. There are many other busses and a tram or two that will get you there too. I think the tram comes from the HBH area.
GreenTea
It was another great FBG - loadsa fun! (and better and cheaper than shopping till midnight)
ian
Hi Amigos!
This Friday we have a whole part of the swanky Comercial bar reserved from 6:30pm
Its in the Fünf Höfe shopping mall in Theatinerstrasse 16. We're at the end of the bar nearest to Salvatorstrasse.
It's a cocktailsy place , so I booked in the name Pussy Galore! As she likes good italian food and cocktails.

Everyone welcome to come and join in. We'll be a big group and easy to find. But if if you have problems call me when you get there.

Transport: U-3,4,5,6 Odeonsplatz. or S-Bahn Marienplatz It couldn't be easier!

Blimey, you're on the ball this week aren't you? This looks a bit posh, do we need to wear a tie, if so I'll wear one instead of a belt! tongue.gif
I take it they do sell beer as well as gay drinks? rolleyes.gif

Edit: I just scrolled across their cocktail list and found that they sell Augustiner, in proper 0,5 measures too. Excellent!
CitizenSmith
Oh no! I just had an image of Allershausen standing at the bar with his trousers round his ancles, a leather belt round his neck and a beer with a parasol in his hand.
CincyInDE
Why let the imagination stop there? ph34r.gif
DDBug

Good to know we can call you. People might indeed have problems if they arrive there and ask the waitress for Pussy Galore.

The posting is made when we are sure of the weather and other barometric predictions. But this week I thought it was Wednseday on Tuesday!

I had assumed that you've been there before with certain jobbers. No?

She'll send you to the petshop next door. They have moggy aplenty. Hey that's a good name for the next Bond girl. "I'm Aplenty.. Moggy Aplenty!"
Well it beats Austin Powers' "Alotta Fagina"

No. In fact I've only just realised that it's that place.

Is it Friday yet?
hams
I don't think Comercial has any idea of what's going to hit it on Friday - or vice versa. unsure.gif
ian
So are we on a collision course for a night to remember? And do you know the Bar Comercial well?
NorthernThor
Looks good, look forward to seeing you all friday night, I've just found some Bailing twine which i'll bring along laugh.gif
madgibson
Seems a well upmarket location for FBG!
ParisJazz
That's the gentrification of FBG in full swing..

Hi ian - can't say I know it well but used to go there occassionally when I lived nearby. Very schicky mickey (sic)... However, why not - it's good for TT Friday to get out of its comfort zone. wink.gif

QUOTE (Allershausen @ Sep 17 2008, 9:26 am) *
they sell Augustiner, in proper 0,5 measures too. Excellent!

And at a fairly normal price, too: 3.20 Euros. Oooh look, they also serve the beer in itsy-bitsy namby-pamby 0.25 l measures at 2.00 Euros for the schicki-micki crowd.

Hee-hee, yeah, me too, not sure how this is gonna work - the usual FBG madness right in the Fuenf Hoefe.
ian

Don't panic. It not that bad. We've tested it with the jobbers. (contractors) If they go there, then it's going to be ok for us.
DDBug
Maybe I can make this. I've had to bow out of too many things lately because of time constraints, but the thought of FBG meets schiky micky sounds too good to miss.

That and Allershousen with a parasol in his beer. I'll bring my camera.

Did I hear a mention of Pirate Day Arrrr,
Allershausen
I've just noticed that Editor Bob thinks that the bars name is spelt with two m's!
Scurvy landlubber that he is! Arrr!
ian
There is another bar spelled with 2 ms (Commercial) but we are going to the 1 m bar. Bar Comercial! Arrr.
GreenTea
Arrr! So, for all ye landlubbers wanting to do the pirate talk thing on Friday night, here be a helpful guide to get ye started: International Talk Like A Pirate Day

The pirate pickup lines might come in well handy.

And for talking to the bar staff in German, here be yer Talk Like A Pirate in German phrasebook.

Anyone planning to turn up with a wooden leg and a parrot on their shoulder? No, don't laugh. This is serious business. If we're gonna hit the Fuenf Hoefe with FBG, we may as well hit them good and proper.
CincyInDE
Also handy for the non-creative... determine your Pirate Name
