Service was initially a little sketchy but they then stepped up a gear or two and it was fine.
Not sure about the East German setting of the place though, could feel myself getting more depressed whenever i went outside for a fag.

Walked in, stood by a table, little waiter bloke was there within seconds asking what I'd like to have. Liked the inside and would definitely go back again. Didn't try the food but there was plenty of it coming out and it looked like good bar food.

Another good night augmented by the street theatre and platform cabaret. Just say no to drugs.
No poblems getting in and out via Chekpoint Charlie but I think I might have been followed as far as Fasanengarten by the Stasi.

It's a pity I couldn't make it last night; my husband turned up unexpectedly so I was otherwise detained.
Sounds like it was a good night?

Well ... that's
Giesing for you. A nice reminder that there are more facets to Munich than just schicki-micki and sleepy suburbia. And I hear the people on the terrace did indeed encounter an interesting local resident, like I predicted.
As regards
Feuerberg, I found the service quick, efficient, and friendly. Didn't have any food, just two beers. Stayed till the bitter end along with two others, and no problems with unpaid drinks or the like. A good, fun night.

Dear all,
This week the Friday Geer Garden will convene at the
Löwenbräu at Stiglmaierplatz The forecast isn’t too bad, if it rains in the afternoon don’t be put off, that’s completely normal.

We’ll be down the back (
as shown on the map) unless the weather turns completely inclement then we’ll be under the shelters near the side entrance.
There are quite a few first class
Curry houses nearby for later.
Don't forget to look out for the Famous Orange flag, made by Space Technology.
See you there,
Gwyn

Good thing the Netherlands aren't playing on Friday. That little orange flag wouldn't have had a chance of being noticed.

Lets hope we're out in the beergarden with self service. You have to spill your
own beer there.

Quite possibly the worst beer garden in Munich. The last two times we went there the service was disgraceful, for once I'm glad I can't make it!

I imagine that despite all the winging we will have a great turn out - again. We need to go to venues like Löwenbräu because they are central and have a good chance of being warmer than other
beer gardens in Munich, they also offer an indoor option, which I hope we won’t be exercising. Maybe a photo of semi naked people would have distracted you from trashing a place that is essentially typically Munich.
bluedave
Jun 20 2008, 8:59 am
Who's trashing it?
Just an opinion eh?
What is wrong with it? OK there is now pfand on the glasses. But in the self service area there is nothing much to differentiate it from any other beergarden! Or is it the lack of a kids play area?

No pfand last night or last week when I was there. Unless it was included in the €7,50 price in which case that makes me the idgit. There were service folks collecting the glasses.

Allershausen
Jun 20 2008, 11:12 am
The self service wasn't open, if I remember correctly, and the time before they closed it early which meant we had to go inside to fetch our beer and the waitresses wouldn't serve us, until we complained and the manageress forced them to. Not good! But I'm sure you'll all have fun anyway and will hardly miss me!

Ok Got it now! Booking larger numbers gets tricky you see.
On Friday we're in the Saal of the
Max Emanuel Brauerei from
7pm (Earlier if sunny)
Adalbertstrasse 33This is the big room by the beergarden. We're booked in the name
Pooh Bear stupidly.
I'm trying to get them to give high tables nerar the bar in the Saal. We'll see if that works out.
If it is suddenly sunny we will be sitting outside somewhere. The lady assured me that there is no football on.
All are welcome. Call or SMS me when you get there if you feel the need. Otherwise juist come along.

It seems the Saal has been modified. Take a look at the pictures on their site.
I will not be salsa dancing on Friday. I might get the old air guitar out and make a complete twit of myself. (Who said "again"?)
