Blimey, Hirschgarten twice in a week? They just had Tues. drinks there last night...

It's the second largest Beergarden in Munich

Tis the largest.
garibaldi
...so it is.

One of the few time I can do a Friday - and where do we go?

Back drinking with Bambi in a Biergarten.

Actually the place wasn't bad (good beer anyway), I just need to find a better way home...
Allershausen
I haven't been to Hirschgarten for years, I think the last time was when I actually lived in Munich and it was in Black and White!
DDBug
Geez, last tuesday, this friday, Americans in Munich meeting there soon. Coincidence? I think not. laugh.gif
fraufruit
Someone is getting a kickback. I wonder who?

Hugh, bring a sleeping bag.

Yeah sorry. It just felt right to go somewhere big. It was either the Hirschgarten or the Michaeligarten. Must have been those deer using telekinesis. Anyway, with probably a totally different set of people it'll be a different enough experience.
the_eagle
Man it looks like Saturday will a ******* ruin !!!
bluedave
Will miss this one sadly but will be back next week, sans suit. smile.gif

Michigarten would have worked for me though!
hughk
Are people going to be there early? I know its POETS day and so on, but there is no way I'm taking the laptop and suit to the biergarten.
Gen
I'm going to raise a glass to Scogs, and I might be able to make it early. Depends on work.
ian
Ok. Post what time you can get there and see who responds.
Some girls I know have planned to be there at 5.30.
I'll get there with the orange flag at 6pm.

We'll all join you in that! I should be there just after 6.
Jeeves
Indeed we will.
Six sounds good.
hughk
I should probably be there at around 18:30.
Jeeves

This week the weather is dead certain!

Interesting clouds on approach from the west.
All the more reason to get there early cool.gif

Cannot believe that that. You probably just don“t remember! Looked to deep into the glass !!! ;)
DDBug
So if when the storm hits, where will you be afterwards? I'm not trekking all the way to deer-land to find you've all gone into town or something tongue.gif
Keydeck
Looking out the window, the major dark clouds appear to have for now passed beyond the area of the Hirschgarten.
crusoe
That's because they're all over here in Neuperlach sad.gif
Well, who needs a beer garden to drink beer anyway.
Owain Glyndwr
So I have the choice of heading home into big black sinister clouds or head in the opposite direction to the beergarden.

Tough decision.
DDBug
Yeah - from my vantage point, they are circling the beergarden.
sarabyrd
Pelting rain in Lehel so Hirschgarten should escape the downpour.
Duty Free
In Au too!!
Gen
Reporting from Riem -- damn wet out here. These are some big clouds!
Keydeck
I suspect my optimism may have been misplaced. It appears that Satan may yet release the contents of his bowels on that area using only his oily underpants as a filter.
Tiggi
We now have hail in N. Schwabing! Pretty big ones too.
DDBug
Car's going in the garage and I'm going for cocktails.
Keydeck
So we've got Satan's bowel movements and DDBug's general movements covered.

Good to know.
Panama
Raining like hell in moosfeld. I should have left work early!!! Damn!
Duty Free
So where is the 'wet-playtime' venue then?
Gen
Didn't Hirschgarten stay dry? Huge lightning strikes north of Riem now...
alimess
Rain won't last, check wetteronline.de
hughk
Its still chucking it down in Schwabing.

OTOH, it looks like it will be a flash in the pan and may dry out in another hour.

So what plans???
Keydeck
DDBug's putting her car away.

I'm in Laim, quite close to the Hirschgarten. It looks as if the shit will move away over the next half hour and there may even be some sunshine. The wind keeps picking up though so it's hard to tell exactly what will happen. If it clears over the next 30 minutes or so I'll be heading over to the garden.

But not my bowel movements. ph34r.gif

Car safe.

Cocktails - anywhere dry. I have an appointment at 9 or so downtown, so anywhere schwabing and or central would be great. But I'm not fussy.
hughk
Apparently Ian leading a group of diehards have set up station now at the HG. The rain seems to be easing off so I shall start my journey (armed with umbrella and light jacket).
pootle
You could always build a beer garden shelter
Gen
I've been looking for that thread for ages! Finally!

beergarden biergarten biertische rain in the biergarten bierbank shelter -- this'll all help me find it next time I look for it.
DDBug
I'm just not that energetic today. Maybe when the wilderness bug hits or something (usually when the rain starts after sitting in the beergarden for a couple hours and mass).

Yeah - ok, so it has stopped raining here.

For now.
Keydeck
Admit it DDBug, if you travel more than about 500m from the front door of your apartment you get nosebleeds.
pootle
right its stopped raining across in Berg-Am-Laim, time to head over
DDBug

Yeah, it was my cousin at cafe voila last friday. And a clone at hbk before that. And --- actually, I just rarely get out, but half the times I do I cross the river.

I need to get out more. Tonight will actually involve an u-bahn. Will monsters eat me if I go underground???
the_eagle
Gonna chance it...it looks like clearing...famous last words...
alimess
Well I know a place in Schwabing with a HOT swedish guy which in itself is a good reason to not cross the river! Anyway it is a reason for me!!
Keydeck
Eagle, see you there. You got the Priest in tow?

Doh! How could I forget !! On my way into town I think I need to explain a missing wine glass...
Jeeves
What are you lot on about? There was but a light sprinking in the Hirschgarten. About two drops of rain landed in my beer. Wusses.
