Yes it looks like an outside start.
Ravski
I am going to try and make this session as I have not been to this place - cocktails and curry is a dangerous combination biggrin.gif

I dont know many people who have posted their interest - whats the best way of knowing where you all are...

Just read the poat - Orange Flag
Jeeves
I'll be there and I'll be there early. And you know me...
Pas
I'm coming with Leeza and we'll be there early as well. About an hour if I can get out of here...
ian

Just read the poat - Orange Flag

If it suddenly crashes down with rain, then we'll be inside and have no orange flag. (Illegal indoors here) So you'd best ask the waiter or call/SMS me (0172 8227752) or CitSmit

You're kidding, right?

How early is early?

Just got a dump to decipher. Plus the five minutes it takes me to walk there from here. So it's your guess.
Ravski
Knowing Jeeves - he is probably already there on his fourth beer and a vindaloo laugh.gif
damara4178
So how long does everyone usually hang around . . . I have a feeling I won't be leaving my office until 6pm or so.
Allershausen
We'll be there till late, at least 11pm if it's a normal night. I won't get there till after 6.30 and there are always people arriving after me!
ian

You're kidding, right?

I don't actually know. I just say stuff that sound believable. And, maybe, we'd like to believe it, to add to our list of gripes.

Remember to wash your hands.
Jeeves
ETA about 5:30 today I reckon.
bluedave
Tactical nap here after a long afternoon, around 8pm ETA.
bluedave
There was a few of us talking about going to the HBK today around 4pm at the FBG last night.

Anyone still up for it?
Dafydd
I'm up for it.
bluedave
Where we off to?

I know it's a bit early but i'm pissed off with England already. sad.gif
Dafydd
Straight off the blocks then...
ian
Just keeping an eye on the weather before actually reserving. I don't suppose we'll get 60 people again like last week. But we'll still be needing a bit of flexibility.
CitizenSmith
Somthing seems to be coming through now.
ian
Bon Jovi everyone

This Friday I have organised the whole corner of the Café Voila in Wörthstr. 6 in Haidhausen from 19:00
I booked the standing-sitting table area at the back in the name Higgs-Boson. (Remember, Higgs Boson is very particular)

Mr. Higgs Boson is very elusive but might turn up. If so he might have mass. Or he might have cocktail. (The cocktail theory) The Alabama Slammer, Bourbon Smash and the Hadron Collider being his favourites.
Now if you think this is all very clever and intellectual, don't worry. The people who tend to come along on a Friday are not all brainy. Some are dumbos like me. I've never even seen a Higgs Boson whassname.

Everyone welcome to drop in. Call or SMS me if you are lost or shy. Or both!

Transport: Tram 15, 19, 25, N19 Wörthstrasse. Or S-Bahn Ostbahnhof

A Higgs Particle recently:
ian
It is also listed at Wörthstrasse 5 and not 6 at www.cafe-voila.de. But my Google Map reference above is still OK.
I forgot to mention happy hour. See also here for more details
bluedave
Looking at the weather from Auntie Beeb, we may be able to commandeer some tables outside too. smile.gif
Allershausen
I'd bring your coat though!
sarabyrd
So he can make a bad pun, take his coat and leave?
Or to cover the suit?
Allershausen
Well I thought more against the cold, but covering the suit is a good idea! biggrin.gif
CitizenSmith
The beeb has just revised Fridays forecast and now it's looking worse.
bluedave
What's up with my suit? unsure.gif

All hurt now. sad.gif
Allershausen
But it looks good for Saturday, so maybe the bad part of Fridays weather will only be in the morning. Fat chance!
Dafydd
60 up again or what?
Allershausen
Depends on how many turn up! tongue.gif
Dafydd
Makes Snow White seem like a lightweight.
Allershausen
The sun is trying to force its way through, we could be outside yet! smile.gif
sea-king
Nice to know it's near me this week. See y'all tonight! blink.gif
ian
Anyone for the early start? As the outside tables might be useful.
CitizenSmith
I could be tempted to make it by 6:15 if there are other takers
Carm
darn, its close to me, and I cannot make it. Have fun.
madgibson
Would be easier to just post when you can come instead of saying every week that you can't tongue.gif
Allershausen
I'll do my best to get there early! smile.gif
GreenTea
Will try to make it - probably later.
Dafydd
Not sure I'll bother after the poor showing last week...
GreenTea
Yeah, I heard there were only 60 people or so. We can never hope to conquer a whole Biergarten with such small numbers.
bluedave
Cracking night and our girl was top despite lots of politics internally and panic amongst other servers. smile.gif
DDBug
Thanks for the invite, and it was, all in all, great to be out again. smile.gif well, except for the way too stressed out waitress who made us move indoors ...
bluedave
Would it be rude of me to point out our girl had a great set of top bollocks?

Further endorsed by DD Bug saying , wow great tits!
DDBug
Yeah, apparently I am deviant like that... happy.gif
bluedave
OK, if i'm honest, if our waitress had played her cards right, she could have had me tonight wink.gif
GreenTea
Realy glad I made it - was great to see a bunch of people I hadn't seen for a while. One highlight of the evening was (especially at my age) getting chatted up by a couple of really nice young German guys. It went something like this:

Them: Where are you from?
Me: A place near Manchester.
Them: Ah, Manchester! Great football team! Champions League! Bla bla bla...
Me: I support Manchester City.
Them: Yeah, right! Manchester! European Champions! Bla bla bla...
Me: No, not Manchester United. Manchester City!
Them: Yeah, yeah, Manchester United! Congratulations!
Me: Arrgh!!! NO!!! Manchester City! There's two teams in Manchester. Would you tell a TSV 1860 supporter how great it is that FC Bayern are the Champions? Salt in the wound, etc...
Them:Oh ... oh ... we're terribly sorry...

Then one of them wanted to hear some English regional dialects, so I took him to meet Bluedave and the Cockney contingent. Oh boy, does that guy know now that there are two teams in Manchester! Good work there, BD! laugh.gif
GreenTea
BTW Dave, re our wager: It took me just 7 minutes from Voilà to the taxi stand at Ostbahnhof, walking at a comfortably brisk pace (and not waiting for the little green man). This with my short little legs, at 2 a.m., feeling slightly shattered after a long hard day at work and a couple of beers. If I can do it, anyone can.

Trouble is, I can't remember if we were betting on 5 or 10 minutes, so I don't even know if I won. unsure.gif
DDBug
You won - it was 10 minutes... I think.
GreenTea
Ah, thanks DDBug. Also not sure what I've won - anyway, guess I don't need to worry about that, since we were doing it for charity - I think.

It's going to be a scorcher!

This Friday meet up in the cool lush greenery of the Hirschgarten Beergarden from 6pm!

It's the second largest Beergarden in Munich and one of the classics. Noted for having no long queues for beer, no kids playground and a deer park. And its a 9 minute tram ride from the Hauptbahnhof.

People will be sitting at the very edge by the open park. The opposite side from the deer park. See the attached map and also it is pinpointed on the Google Map link below. If you cant find us, look out for the famous orange flag or call me when you get there.

Throughout the summer we will be picking all the classic beergardens as well as some lesser known ones. And we'll be going to all different parts of the city. But the weather is the deciding factor as to where we can go. This week the weather is dead certain! That will not happen too often. So we'll save beergardens with an inside option to those occasions when the weather is not too certain.

Ian (0172 8227752)
This link show exactly where people will be sitting: Google Maps Depending on availability.
Transport:
- S-Bahn Laim
- Tram 17 Steubenplatz
