might actually be able to attend this week
Swede
If the weather forecast's correct I'll definitely be attending!

Hi since travelling here and there and everywhere (nah Finland and China only:) I will finally be in Munich on Friday and looooooking forward to drinking beer with all the old farts and tarts smile.gif I'm also bringing a fellow Finn with me. Btw did you notice that Finland won Germany 5-1 in hockey world championships... you do know what is hockey? At least the Canadians should... Anyway more about ice hockey and all on Friday. I'll be landing at about 17.00 so won't make it at 18 but will be there a bit later...
CitizenSmith
Hold on to your hats and get out the buckets, we've got TWO Fins coming on Friday!
Allershausen
Break out the vodka, heat up the Sauna and fire up the rally car! Hyvää päivää (The only thing I know how to say in Finnish!) smile.gif
astro_rabbit
Will I be able to buy fresh virgin's blood at the beer garden, or do I need to go to the other place before the clock strikes 10pm smile.gif

See y'all Friday!
alimess
wanted to bring a friend who is visiting germany for the first time along but have to go and shop for saturday evening!!!

btw might need some help to bring some beer cases to the 5 th floor ( ohne lift!!! ) anyone interested ?? stupid question!
ian
What kind of beer?
alimess
Helles, Weissbier...
ian
Hands up all those fancy getting there at about 5!
There seems to be much interest in the early start but no one wants to go early if they are the only one.
Now me. I'd drink on my own. But then again I live under a bridge by there river and drink methanol. . . from the bottle!
Allershausen
Well, I shall be coming straight from work so there is a good chance that I will be there somewhere around 5:00 to 5:30., I don't like to see someone drinking alone! smile.gif
CitizenSmith
I'm going to be there early too, I'm aiming to be there around 4 and spend an hour in the Transport museum. They usually kick us out at 5.
I was originally planning to bring a virgin with me too but I'll only do that if I have an assurance from astro_rabbit that he won't try to drink his blood, he might cry, he's only 3.
MadAxeMurderer
Sounds good, I'll bring a virgin too for an ETA of 17:00 to 18:00 or anything between or inside.

Hands up, all those bringing virgins.

p.s. I fully expect to take my virgin away with me, still virginal, all blood intact.
llees
I'm going shopping on my way out of work so I may turn up, or not. If I do it won't be till after seven. Will all the virgins be taken by then?
ian
Enough of this virgin talk already!
MadAxeMurderer
I'm a virgin and so are my parents. So yes there will be plenty to go around.
Vivian Mackerrell
Virgin on the ridiculous
astro_rabbit
You have no worries, I already have youthful looks, I have not visited Whitby, and definitley have no Romanian ancestors cool.gif
Allershausen
Anybody getting thirsty, yet?
Vivian Mackerrell
Extremely thirsty but must work some more.
Allershausen
Well as you're in London, according to your profile, that information is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard! tongue.gif
Vivian Mackerrell
Sorry, that should be Löndon; it's about 3K's south east of Bad Tölz
Allershausen
Right that's it, I can wait no longer, I'm on my way! smile.gif
ian
Thirst level at 8.9 on the Augustiner scale. And climbing!
Carm
sorry, missed it, got waylayed at the HBK- opening of Sausolitos! Happy hour cocktails were just calling my name!
bluedave
I know it's very early to be discussing this as it's in the early hours of monday and you lucky bastards in Munich are on holiday tomorrow, but, may i make a suggestion for next friday?

Following on from a curry night discussion and some PMing amongst friends, may i suggest a FBG / Curry Night joint venture?

If we pick the hbk this friday, we could also order takeaway curries from Safran opposite, to be delivered to the beer garden to enhance the evening.

In addition, Sausalitos have opened the cocktail bar there and we thus satisfy all three of the TT essentials of beer, cocktails and curry in one fell swoop! smile.gif

Whatyathink?

CitizenSmith
I like the idea, we have done this in the past, although not on a large scale.
It could be done in any beer garden, lots of curry places will deliver.
Two points:
1) We are still in the "move inside early" mode of the FBG, it's at this time of the year that we are most likely to get the "Lets all go for a Curry" since the later evenings are often chilly.
2) We either need a menu from said Curry House or we need a web browser.

Bollywood is great for deliveries in the West, i.e. Hirschgarten
The Maharani does deliveries now I think? Central, Löwenbräu / Augustina
Any other home delivery?

Why have you posted a picture of Potato Grattan?

Why have you posted a picture of Potato Grattan?

Maybe because Grattan deliver! tongue.gif
Potato Gratin
bluedave
But the other beer gardens don't have cocktail happy hours cs. wink.gif
DDBug
I was trying to think of curry places with nice beergarden-type seating, but either way I think it's a great idea. (Yes, I will probably be there ph34r.gif )
Owain Glyndwr
and with Safran just being across the road it really doesn't matter if they deliver or not since if the worst comes to the worst someone can walk the 50m metres and pick up the order. Btw, Safran rules.

fantastic idea, BD. Great combination of beergarden, cocktails and curry not to be found anywhere else in Munich.
the_eagle
Well lads if I meet that lass in first picture you will NEVER see me again...whether it be FBG, TT Tue , Rugby, soccer etc..I will be history in a BIG WAY..!!! But then again that curry pic could change me mind !!!

First picture, did you say? tongue.gif

OK. The weather is currently not looking good for Friday. And if the forecast stays like it, or gets worse, we'll postpone the HBK-Curry plan until the next possibility, and pick an inside venue.
damara4178
Hi all . . . I'm fairly new to TT and haven't been to any meetings yet . . . so a Friday at a beer garden seems like a fine place to start. Where is this happening?
CitizenSmith
Ian or I will usually post a venue on wednesday or so.
Newbies are very welcome, look out for the Orange flag.
We may delay the posting this week because the weather is looking dodgy for Friday wetter.com and the later we leave it the more acurate the forecast so the more chance we have of getting the booking right.

Beergarden visitors can also look at these weather websites collected on the Toytown Wiki pages. The links are already pointed at Munich so it saves you doing any navigating.
But there is often a difference between them. So you can pick the most optimistic one. Or pessimistic one if you are of nervous disposition.

For Friday we are considering some bars where we could suddenly sit outside if the weather changes at the last minute.
CitizenSmith
Hi there Beer-gardeners,

Since the weather forecast for Friday is not looking good we have chosen an inside / outside option.

I’ve booked the tall tables in the Continental bar which is part of the: The Bavaria Bräu - Pschorr Keller - Hacker Pschorr Keller Hacker Pshorr Bräu Haus which it is now called.
The Continental bar is on the left of the Hacker Pshorr Bräu Haus when you look at it from the front.

It’s a great place with plenty of outside seating and umbrellas and cocktails. I booked the tall tables near the bar.

Hacker Pshorr Bräu Haus
Theresienhöhe 7
Munich Westend

Lots of us will make an early start at around 6
MVV – Schwahntahler Hohe or Theresinwiese U4/5

See you there,

Gwyn
(Call or SMS 01733510658 if you can’t find us)

Oh, and the reservation is made in the name of Trevor Chaplin

I’ll give you a clue: He’s COOL and likes Jazz

Hello Thelma pet.

Hello Thelma pet.

This one is not as likely as that.
Think potting sheds and bowls.
Try "Big Al" and "Little Norm"?
astro_rabbit
Just posting for the OF&Ts. Do they sell fresh virgins blood there, not the frozen stuff, or is it to the other place for that youth giving liquid.
skibum
I will be there as well! See you Friday
CitizenSmith
Here's a quote from The Biederbeck Connection:
"Miss: Possibly the thing I like about you most is you're funny in bed.
Sir: Give me an example?
Miss: Maybe its the way that at that crucial moment you shout "Away the Lads"
skibum
Have to cancel, maybe next time.
Tinde
I'll be there and propably quite early ... btw sun is shining at the moment cool.gif
