Have you bonded lately?

Hmm ... funny you should ask that, Ian. Do you know something that I don't know that you know? Or vice-versa?

Here's a clue:

I´ll be there, without techno trousers!

Look for the Scotsman in the techno kilt ph34r.gif

I have my bag o' dirt, and I'm preparing a whole rant on how rude people are when they see a small woman barely visible behind a giant bag o' dirt and won't get out of her way.

Even if they hadn't seen me, you'd think they'd have the common decency to step out of the way of a gigantic bag of perambulatory compost.

I'll need a beer after this...
ian
Thats what Friday beergardens are all about!
Breath deeply. Relax. Think of something nice.
Allershausen
I just wanted to say that I thought this place was great, the waitresses were fantastic, they were constantly coming around and actively searching out people who needed their glass refilling, non of this desperately trying to attract their attention that we get in a lot of places. Ok, so they didn't look like the girls in the football poster but they were pleasant and efficient. We should definitely return there in the near future I feel.
ian
I noticed that they were also speaking English to some people. I think that the waitresses enjoyed themselves too. Cool! I agree. We'll be back!
bluedave
Any forward info on this week's venue?
alimess
somewhere in Schwabing would be nice!
marka
Any plans yet? Location fixed? Weather looks like it will be pertty crap so I am guessing the venue will be covered and heated :-)

Or even better, in Haidhausen...what about my Wasserwerk suggestion from a few weeks ago? Pretty please wub.gif
PatriciaE
Not that I want to weigh in too much on the subject (since I haven't been going to the Friday Beer Garden for a few weeks now) - but wasn't it in Haidenhausen last week, and the week before? Bring it back to Schwabing! (can you tell I live there?)
alimess
yeah bring it back to Schwabing please!
PatriciaE
I've just realised it is ANZAC day tomorrow - so maybe we should go Aussie/Kiwi (?)
alimess
good idea!
honeebeaz
I will be joining you lot tomorrow and have to say I quite like the idea of Wasserwerk in Haidhausen...
Besides, Aussie / Kiwi places pretty much limit us to Ned Kelly's or Outland and both - especially Ned's - are packed on Friday nights.
alimess
Maybe but as PatriciaE said the last events took place in Haidhausen. The last event in Schwabing was a while ago or correct me if I am wrong.
honeebeaz
It does make sense to make sure all areas of town are covered, I haven't been to many Friday night meet ups so I hadn't noticed this but I agree.
Schwabing also sounds good to me, I just wanted to make sure we wouldn't end up in over crowded bars.

So anybody has any suggestions for Schwabing? How about the Wassermann?
CitizenSmith
We are waiting to see if our booking sticks, Ian will post something shortly.

We were in Schwabing 2 weeks ago at Alter Simpl in Tükenstrasse. At least I think that's part of Schwabing!
alimess
Isn't that part Maxvorstadt??
alimess
BTW Egger Schwabing in Hohenzollernstr is a nice place too.
Allershausen
Possibly, the boundaries of Schwabing seem to vary depending how much rent people want to charge!
bluedave
I don't care much where it is as i will be coming in straight from the airport.
Carm
I have the next two weeks booked up already, but agree it should move around, but then again, anybody who complains can take on the task of organizing and looking for a venue and calling and booking and actually turning up to the event.
I personally think its great that Ian and Gywn do this every week. smile.gif
alimess
Is anyone complaining here ? tongue.gif
ian
After calling .Egger, Scheidegger, Zoozies & Schwabinger Wassermann, who were all full, I booked 35 places at:

Rolandseck, Viktoriastr. 23 in Schwabing right near Bonner platz U-bahn.
We'll be there from 7pm or earlier (does that make sense?)

Everyone welcome to join in the fun. Newbies and TTies and all!

I booked in the name of the "worlds cleverest man" Stephen Hawkins! Inventor of the black hole and TV wheelchair funny man.
When I called up I wanted to use my PC to do the electronic voice. But I couldn't type fast enough! So I had to do the tinny 80's technology voice manually. By talking like an american robot. I think the lady who took the booking thought I was a little strange. Maybe she does not watch TV? Or maybe his voice is dubbed in Germany?

Ian
Call/sms me if you are lost: 0172 8227752
MVV: Bonner platz U-bahn

bluedave
Maybe she expected someone called Stephen Hawking? wink.gif
ian
Caught the first one!

Anyone else?
bluedave
Hahahaha, nice save ian. laugh.gif
ian
So you have never read VIZ comic then? And the other facts about inventing black holes and being a TV funny man?
I did think it was going to be a German who'd be the first to pick me up on the Hawkins, and the black holes, not knowing the Viz style.
bluedave
Not for ages sadly sad.gif

But you've now reminded me to buy a copy on way back from work, cheers.
RogerM
Hope it's ok to just turn up- not been before, but it's right next to my house, so can crawl home!
Will you be in or out?
sea-king
I have heard tell that some incredibly hot TT babes are coming to FBG, so I´ll have to be there! blink.gif

Sure you can. Everyone is welcome.

Inside. It is not going to be too nice in the evening (11deg). If we're lucky, we might actually start outside and move in though.
honeebeaz
Cool, never been there and looks like a lovely place. Looking forward to it! I should be there very early, around 5ish.

Good God man, are you trying to put them off! tongue.gif
alimess
I ll probably be there at around 6ish.
Allershausen
I'll be there about 6:30, if the trains run on time!
bluedave
Dear god hb, you'll be pissed as a parrot by the time i get there. ohmy.gif
honeebeaz
Haha, thanks bd! Actually I will be meeting up with an old friend I haven't seen in forever so we will both try to get out of work early. Don't worry, the important thing is that I'll still be there when you make it there.
Just start drinking in the plane wink.gif
PatriciaE
Pissed as a parrot? Parrots get pissed? First time I've heard it... Mind you, I have heard "pissed as a fart" and I am not sure about that one either...
Allershausen
Let me see, French person, drunk, now where have I heard that before? Ah Yes, here! biggrin.gif
PatriciaE
Allershausen - that was hillarious!
Mind you, kind of mean of them to put a press conference after a meeting with Putin... Everyone knows the Russians can drink anyone under the table.

Ahh, true story here, back in the day, we sent a Scorpion(light tank) Troop to Belize as part of the Belize Defence Force (the Guats were making noises on the border) I never got there as I was just back from a year in NI and needed a break from running around like a daft bugger.
Anyways, they had a parrot, a big parrot so I was told. Now the guys used to drink some god awful green rum and to make it palatable, they mixed it with condensed milk huh.gif , all true (I tasted some that someone brought back, Yeeeccchhh) The parrot who had an ID card and the rank of corporal liked a tipple or two to the effect he was always drunk and disorderly. Schreeching bloody blue murder all night. So they had to lock him up in the guard room in a cell, where it was dark and he would fall into a drunken coma. He was bust to Trooper many times never stopped him drinking though.
So drunk as a parrot is quite correct. blink.gif
CitizenSmith
What is his TT name? Tell him he can come along on Friday if he wears Ians little black number.
sea-king
This was in 77, so he would be a very old parrot by now! Dunno if he could fly as far as here! blink.gif
Edit : you do mean the parrot do you?
PatriciaE
Fair enough... I will remember that for the next time - pissed as a parrot is factually correct. Anyone care to explain the "pissed as a fart" one?
bluedave
Cos farts don't travel in straight lines and are liable to go in any direction, much like a drunk trying to walk.
