If you're squinting towards
Escobar, be aware that the TT over-thirties will also be there
en masse on their crutches and walking frames before shuffling off to the
Ü30 Party at the Georg-Elser-Halle.
Ok senöritas and senöriblokes
As it's such a great place we will be at the
Escobar in
Haidhausen from
7pm on Friday.
A merge of convenience with the
Ü30 Party lot.
Its the place to be!We will be on the tall tables by the bar.
Everyone is, as always, welcome to join in the fun. Air guitar and Mr. Roboto moves not appreciated though.

Hi,
I also want to see Ian in his nice dress

that's the only reason I'm joining you guys for the first time tonight... not really, I've lived in Munich for almost two weeks now and need some company... see you later then!

Hi
On
Friday we'll be at the
Ysenegger,
Ysenburgstr. 3 from
7pmIts right by the U-Bahn Rotkreuzplatz. They have great
cocktails there.
We have 30 places reserved on the
high tables on the right as you go in the door.
It is booked in the name of the tousled London Mayoral Candidate
Boris Johnson.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join in the fun. New people especially.
Call or sms me if you not sure if we
really are that funny noisy lot crowding around the high tables.

We'll be looking for volunteers to join a recce squad! If you come along on Friday, at some stage the recce squad will sneak out for a bit and check out some other bars nearby to check for Friday suitability and see if they too have the tall tables. Of course the squad will have to test the beer there too before returning.
The thing about the tall table is that they are are ideal to allow people to move around and chat to different people. You dont want to get stuck in the corner like in some restaurants. Also, many like to stand up to drink. A British pub tradition. So the tall tables allow people to both sit and stand and be on the same level. (And air guitar too apparently!)

I'll probably be a bit later than usual, but I will be armed with a Dutchman, who will no doubt be up for a bit of a recce!

Either
1) ask at the bar for the table booked in the name Boris Johnson or
2) call or SMS my number saying where you are and we'll find you or
3) walk up to any group and say "are you... er.. Toyt..." by which time someone will say " hi! yes!.. here we are. Just sit anywhere on these tables here.."
Or come up with another imaginative method to track us down. Any ideas?
In summer we have an orange flag that we put up in beergardens. (Made with Space technology)

Topper night, mostly superb service, I wonder how the waitress did it, given how crowded it was. And yes, the high tables are so much better for mingling and playing air guitar.
Any results from the recce squad?
The recce squad did not get too far. We went to Cafe Yesenberg, Pardy and
The Big Easy. None were suitable for a group of our size with the need to mingle.
There are still plenty of good places to choose from, but it underlines the importance checking out places beforehand. Including old favourites to see if they have changed.

"Somewhere in Munich" - well, I hope you don't go to the
Frühlingsfest this Friday - want to pop in and say goodbye to LSR but don't fancy sitting in a tent amongst hordes of beer swilling folk!
But I can think of nothing finer! But maybe next week. Did you mean LSL?
Allershausen
Apr 8 2008, 7:39 pm
The weather might be better next week as well. Wet weather beerfests are a bit grim.*
Is LSR a Lash Speed Record, the worlds fastest pub crawl?

In any case...any further forward with the location? How about
Wasserwerk? They have an area to the left of the bar with some high tables/stools for mingling...

Thanks for that tip. Have you been there? Can you personally recommend it? Knowing the type of clientele that we are. And that we'll need space for 30+ revellers.
we have had a few events at Wasserwerk, if you reserve the area to the left as you come in, there is room to mingle and its higher tables and chairs, its right around the corner from Paros.

Do they sell beer? The website goes on about cocktails and spirits but there is no mention of beer that I can see. I know just about everwhere normally sells beer but if it's like
Juleps and only sells beer from small bottles at extortionate prices, I vote for somewhere else that does both beer and cocktails!
- Thanks Carm.
- I'll check out about the beer. That is kind of essential. If I have to drink cocktails I go mad and start trying to do Air Guitar!
