As a visitor, how should I find y'all -- will you be in a particular spot inside? Thanks!
Also you can call my number when you get there or tell the waitress you want
Bender.
As the tables are booked in that name.

Yes it was a fierce night...ended up with a crowd of lesbians in the Die Bank...5am job.Brutal hangover now just lifting !!!
Topper night.
So where to next week? It ought to be:
in a different part of town not too far out
somewhere we havn't been for a while
somwhere that can cope with a group of 30 or more people
somewhere that serves food and beer. Cocktails are a bonus
Thats all! We're not fussy! We just wanna
party!

as for where we go next week, from my side no issue...NO BAR TOO FAR !!!

Zar Bar! Or however you spell it!
Have you been there? Is it not too shicky-micky? Can they handle us? I've just found the
website. It doesnt look our type of place from the pictures. Napkins made into little cones standing on the tables alongside emptly wine and water glasses! But maybe you meant a different part of the place. I didnt see any tall standing tables either. Which seems to be important these days. Fill me in!

Mar 1 2008, 11:21 pm
Only been there once for TT Tues. drinks...didn't appear to be shicky-micky at all...not sure where those pics were taken but it didn't look like that when I was there! There are tall tables inside to the left (for mingling) and after that at the end is a "lounge" area - big leather sofas but miles apart so you can't have a conversation.
I reckon it's a good choice for Fri. drinks -
Karl-Preis-Platz is the nearest U-Bahn so not too far out.
Actually, we're now on the lookout for pleasant pubs that have an area of tall tables that allow mingling you see. So if anyone knows of anywhere that can compete with last nights
Zoozies atmosphere. Please let us know. It doesn't have to have all the dark wood and a church pulpit! Although the 80's music did help in my air guitar solos!

Hello m' harties,
This week we have a large table in the heart of the
Unions Bräu cellar, I booked it in the name of Cap'n Jack Sparra', Arr!
Start some time about 7pm although Allershausen has a tendancy to get a bit thirsty around 5:30 which usually gets the ball rolling for an early start.
Unionsbräu is at MaxWeberPlatz, U4/5 here is a
google mapIf you can't find us don't bother to call me, Gwyn on 01733510658 because there is no reception in the cellar.
I wouldn't bother to call Ian on 01728227752 either if I were you.

Unionsbräu, besides being another highschool favorite of mine, has a brewery with excellent beer! Good choice, I am looking forward to it!
If my memory does not fail me, this is one of the few places in Munich that still have those handy basins in the toilet called
Papst extra for puking

Interesting preferences! I think you will like the place!
Pirates? Sound proof cellars? Manacles? Where is all this leading?
Could it be the Starkbier?
Is the cellar the same thing as the "Malzboden" section? Just asking because there's live music in the Malzboden on Friday from 8pm, and according to the
Unions-Bräu website there's a €7 entrance fee.
Edit: OK, I'm guessing it's not, as the website has entries for both the Braukeller and the Malzboden.
CitizenSmith
Mar 5 2008, 8:57 pm
No the Malzboden is down on the left in a separate "Chamber", its the Steamboat Stompers a strangely nautically themed Jazz band.
By the way my
link to the Unionsbräu didn't escape the killer robot so here it is again.

Do we have to listen to Jazz all night long or is this optional? I like a bit sometimes but lets not over do it! See you there!
Last time we were there we could only faintly hear it from the room next to the jazz room. But this time we are in the middle of the main keller and will not hear a peep from the Back Bottom Stonkers or whatever they are called! (Sorry Eddie!)
Did I mention Starkbier?
Who is up for an early start?
Does anyone know if they do Starkbier in a cocktail glass?

If there is curry later on, will it be at Surbahar? (only 5 mins walk up the road)
OK, I know - at the Friday Beer Garden, anything can and often does happen, and making predictions several hours in advance is impossible without a crystal ball, but who knows, maybe someone out there has such a device.
Don't know yet if I'll even be there, cos I might have to drag myself away from somewhere else, but for Surbahar I might be tempted.

Geeper: I'm not too familiar with the Unionsbraeu, so can't say what the food is like, but I'm sure you'll find something to eat there if you're hungry. If you like Indian food, the Munich High Priest of Curry usually shows up later in the evening, around 9-10 pm, and tries to abduct people to the nearest curry establishment.
Oh, and if CitizenSmith says to ask for Cap'n Jack Sparra', he means it. Although what he actually wrote was "Cap'n Jack Sparra',
Arr!" Does that mean we have to go "Arrr!" to the waiter?
Yeah, we're all crazy! Come and join the fun!

Sorry to disappoint you GT but the Munich High Priest of Curry (I'm sure he'll like his new title) is out of town so all the rest of you curry followers will have to make do without your leader tonight
P.S. They were just at Surbahar on Wed. for

Yeah,
"They" were, but I wasn't

. And it's so close to Unionsbraeu - too good an opportunity to miss. Then again, never been to Safran, so would be a good opportunity to try something new.
Anyway, all of this is hypothetical, as I don't yet know if I'll be there.
