Hi my macaroonies
I booked a load of space in
Juleps in
Haidhausen from
19:00 this
FridayI actually booked tables, and not
space as in
outer space. As that would be a vacuum! And there would be no
cocktails or anything!
The booking is in the name
George Clooney. The waitress got a bit excited, so I foolishly said "not the actor George Clooney", and she sounded disappointed. (All true
this time). Happy hour til 20:00.
Everyone welcome. Newcomers too! No need to book in advance. Just come along and join in the fun!

Don't worry, they're doing it just to make us feel bad.

If I get there at 6pm, will anybody else be there? I'd like to have a beer before I put on the
Sombrero.

Allershausen: Can't promise, but I might drop by some time between 6:30 and 7 for a quick one before shuffling off to the
senior citizens' musical soirée. I think I owe you a beer for the red wine that you kindly allowed me to pour over your shirt last time. Although if you're wearing a shirt that isn't red, I might just be tempted to have another go with the wine, for better effect.

Woo-hoo,
Juleps is a great place!
Here are some drinking quotes, to get into mood for Friday:
http://www.onmylist.com/category/food_drin...inking_quotes_1E.g. "When I realized that what I had turned out to be was a lousy, two-bit pool hustler and drunk, I wasn't depressed at all. I was glad to have a profession."
Allershausen: I can make it at 6.00 on Friday
GreenTea, Allershausen: Not everyone likes to have beverages poured over them as I can say from my experience last week! Some strange fascination you two have!

exscuse my ignorance, but this
pots of evil... how strong is it exactly??
Darkknight
Nov 30 2007, 1:55 am
As strong as you want to make it... Normally its OK, but many people get it with a bit of xtra alcohol.
If you want it super strong, then get'em with 2x shots..

LS Larry: Yes, I read about the excellent service at the Augustiner last week. OK, so red wine and beer have already been done. I propose a cocktail-spilling contest for this week. The nice thing about cocktails is, no matter what colour someone is wearing, you can always find a drink in a complementary colour to make an impact.
Tonight I'll be sporting a chic little number in caiparinia, embellished with B52 and Tequila Sequins.
My Kamikazi high heels were supplied by Smirnoff and the matching handbag would not pass through airport security.

GreenTea: Great, I am looking forward to it! It will all be different when it's cocktails!
Hello darlings!
I have booked tables at
Rolandseck in Schwabing this
Friday from
7pmRolandseck, in
Viktoriastraße 23, which is very close to the U-Bahn
Bonner platz, is noted for its good choice of
wines.
I booked in the name
Stephen Fry. But sadly, actor, writer and TV funny man Fry, best known for roles in Black Adder and Jeeves and Wooster, can't make it, as he is busy recording the next book on tape "Harry Potter and Weissbier of Doom"
Everyone welcome. Newcomers too! No need to book in advance. Just come along and join in the fun!

There's also the
Ysenegger in

So after hours if deliberation Ian and I have organised a splendiferous evening for your delectation, with many felicitations .. you get the general idea.

Why not use a female name for a change???

Feel free to suggest one. Something funny.
But I don't to a very good female impersonation when booking the place. Besides, I have a beard!

Well put, LSS! Except I was trying to upgrade the Friday drinks image a bit and thinking more of intellectuals like Constance Markievicz or Margaret Sanger or Elizabeth Gurley Flynn. If you need something popular and funny-wunny there's Godiva, Boadicea, Tituba or Helen Potter...
Shirley Bassey, Lulu, Sharon Osbourne, Carol Vordermann, Felicity Kendal... Canoe Wife!
belgianpraline
Dec 13 2007, 5:22 pm
Never heard of them! Who the ... are they? You just made that up, didn't you, Woger.
These are top ladies! and they all have their own websites!
Shirley Bassey,
Lulu,
Sharon Osbourne,
Carol Vordermann,
Felicity KendalBut I couldn't find one for Canoe Wife. But just type it into google and you'll get the picture.
(you would have though she would have created one wouldnt you?)

Ah, I see, well my famous ladies didn't have that luck in their day. Doesn't make them any lesser though.
Yes. Serious people. But they didn't know how to get in the headlines like "Teddy bear teacher", "Canoe wife" and "Big Brother Jade Goody"
belgianpraline
Dec 13 2007, 9:14 pm
Oh, they did actually! "The Red Countess" "Irish Joan of Arc" (Constance) "The Woman Rebel" (Margaret) or "The Rebel Girl" (Elizabeth)
Yes, but that is quite different from doing more or less nothing like these did.
Didn't name a teddy
Didn't go out in a canoe
Didn't shut her gob when she shoulda
