Ian, I think we went about this the wrong way last week at Max E. Instead of trying to set fire to a newly-renovated place, we should follow the old tradition of finding a place that's badly in need of a facelift, discreetly inquire with the owner whether he's insured for fire damage, then arrange a deal that is favourable to all parties...

Based on past experience, I would guess they'll stay there at least 3 hours, i.e. till 9pm or later. Ian or Gwyn will correct me if I'm wrong ... where are you, guys?
As it is such a nice day most people will still be there at 9.30 or 10. Some of the hardened beergardeners will surely be there til the end!
@GT: Dont spread our reputation for wrecking places! It only happened once, and it wasn't our fault that the Salvatorkeller was built out of firewood!

@Ian: Ah, so the Hofbraeukeller fire (also mentioned in that link) wasn't you then? I often wondered about that one. Or do you just have a special agreement with Paulaner? (Guess we might need more than just one fire extinguisher tonight then

Might pop by this evening for a while... love trying new biergartens.
As the weather thinks it is October, we'll try something new:
Der Pschorr in the
Schrannenhalle from
19:00see:
www.derpschorr.de (what a crummy website!)
I've booked in my name (Mr. Phillips).
Watch out for the Darkknight and his chill out tables there too. We've sort of linked up. so some will be chilling out and the others will be... whats the opposite of chilling out?

Umm... I guess the Germans would say "Einheizen". Or what about "setting the place on fire"? - or was that last week?
(note to self: must try to find a "devilish grin" smiley)
They've stopped us taking liquids into pubs now. It must be our reputation! But it wasn't the liquids that caused the 'Great Friday Beergarden Fire'! And it wasn't our fault that our laptop batteries kept catching fire!
I knew I should have updated the firewall when it warned me!
OK? yes?
This Friday we'll be at
CaVa at Kazmairstr 44 from 19:00
Its a popular place in the
Westend with good food and a laid back atmosphere.
There is no reference to it on Toytown, so bring one of those phones with a built in camera and we can do the
review page for TT!
We might be joined/merged by the TT
Friday Chill-out zone. So someone has to pretend to be Darkknight for the night!
We got a
monster table booked so see you there!

Good Idea!
The tables are booked in the name of Mr. Phillips from 19:00. I cant make it earlier this week, but theres no reason why anyone shouldnt get the ball rolling at a sensible start time.
See you there!
Hello all you rampant honchos!
On Friday we'll be at the
Jagdschlössl Beergarden right at
Rotkreuzpl. from 18:00 or earlier!
We are mind-melding with the Friday Pre-Chill out team this week.
See the thread There you'll find a nice
map of the location.
We could be indoors if the weather is not good.

This Friday we are going to an old favourite:
The Chinese Tower from 6pm We will sit 4 or 5 rows down from the Kiddies play area.
Its your last chance to practice before the Wiesn starts!
The Chinese Tower serve beer in most weather conditions. But in case of totally wet miserable weather we’ll go to Bobolowski, at Ursula Str 20 (34089964) it's near Munchner Freiheit. In case of confusion over where we will be, call me.
Ian
0172 8227752
As It is brightening up we will still go to the
Chinese Tower Beergarden!
If it is physically raining at 6 or 6.30 then we
will go to Bobolowskis.
Just watch the weather develop! This is the current
Rain Radar. Blue areas are the actual rain NOT clouds. The animation shows the rain moving away.
Incidentally The Chinese Tower BG was chosen as, like the
Seehaus, they don't panic when the weather is less than ideal for a few hours. Also there are a huge lot of people in town for tomorrows Oktoberfest. They will not be put off by a few clouds.

Hi Wiesn mufflers!
If you can miss the Wiesn for one night, then its the
Hirschgarten from
18:00 this
Friday. As beergardens go, with 7000 seats its a stonker!
No crowds, no sticky smells, plenty of seats and 1 carousel that won't make you throw up!
Situated in the cool greenery of the park
Hirschgarten, we'll be sitting near the edge of the beergarden near the open park. The opposite side from the "Animals". Look out for our
orange flag!

I
might (if I can make it - not at all sure yet) go along to this - can't let all that lovely sunshine go to waste! It will also be a good opportunity to try out my recent discovery of
Marmite on Brez'n in a real Biergarten setting. Now, let me see... the Hirsch
garten is the one that's about halfway to Switzerland, right? (as opposed to the Hirsch
au in the
Englischer Garten).
@CitizenSmith: Closed?
If anyone is interested, a bunch of us are going to the
Chinese Tower Beergarden on Friday.
Everyone is welcome to come along on
Friday 29th From
18:00They
usually are open even if it is not perfect weather! (note the word usually)
The address of the
Chinese Tower Beergarden is:
Englischer Garten 3 Schwabing. Does that really help?
The Backup plan is to go to
Cast on
Leopoldstr 28a if it is technically raining. Call of SMS me if you are not sure or don't yet know me. (0172 8227752)
Q. Cast used to be:
a) Molly Malones?
b) Gunther Murphy?
c) Luigi Malones?
d) Günther Malones?
e) Don't care!

By the looks of things the weather will be glorious.
The fall back plan is the Pub previously know as Cast then.
I'll aim for 6pm although I could be talked into turning up a little early.
We'll be sitting at the top, near- ish the kiddies play area.

Hello all you rampant namby pambies! (Sorry. I'm in an illiterative mood again!)
Now that all that Wiesn business is behind us, (funny, I fancy going again!) we thought that the
Augustiner Beer Hall in Neuhauser Straße 27 from
18:00 on Friday would be a good Idea. That is in the pedestrian zone in the centre of town.
We have a big booking in the
Restaurant side. Not the shouting and beer swilling side. Feel free to shout and swill however.
For the intellectual among us: When did they stop brewing beer in this building? Was it:
- a) 1785
- b) 1885
- c) 1985
