I know there is an English shop in Pforzheim but I'm having problems finding any information online. Could someone please help me out with the address or a link??

How hard did you look? I find that entering the words "English shop in Pforzheim" into Google works well. Click here to see the results or here to download the consular document with the information you seek (which comes top of the Google search), or even here to go straight to the shop itself.
Oh, and just if you have a problem recognising it, here is a picture of it:

Tell me why everyone must find a English shop, its like you will all die if you live on the local produce, tell me why you can not go out and try the local stuff and why you are willing to spend so much money on imported stuff. there is good food in Germany and you will not die if you dont eat your Bisto or whatever while you are here, just waste your money , So Tina, go to the localstores you might be surprised what they have, after all Germany is not like living in a 3rd world country.

Well, it's not so long as I can get Bovril, Marmite, Heinz Baked Beans, Walkers Crisps, Weetabix, PG Tips, HP Sauce, to name but a few. If you were eating Bisto, I understand your confusion. Show me a German in UK that actually enjoys the bread there, relishes in the sausages, laps up the beer and doesn't yearn for his/own variants locally...

Well, thank you!

That's strange because of course that's exactly what I entered into google. unsure.gif

I'm normally good at fnding stuff online...really... (I need to remember using google.COM not google.DE which never takes me to what I'm looking for.)

Well katz, I'm German...roflol.

I'm fairly familiar with the local products. wink.gif

I want to find an English shop so I can buy things I learned to appreciate while in England. And English paperbacks. :-)
katz
Well i dont know where you live, i can buy all these produce at my local German supermark except marmate but who eats that anyway? 2% of English people?
katz
Tina i buy all my paperbacks dvds on E.Bay its cheap and you can sell them back when you are finished with them, come to visit me for a day, i have lived in Germany for 7 yrs i know where you get the stuff and at a good price!!!

I thought about trolling the shit out of you but I'm in one of those weird moods I get occasionally and figured I'd give it to you straight.

Why? "Comfort food". People are most comfortable with the foods they grew up with, plain and simple.

I miss Twiglets and pork pies and even though kidney always tastes pissy to me, I miss a steak and kidney pudding now and again. I'm not British, but I lived there for a while.

I miss Macaroni and Cheeze, salt bagels with veggie cream cheese spread, good Chinese and pizza. You can find all but the Mac&Cheeze here but the German versions suck and they're way overpriced. German mayo sucks. Even Germans admit it. My ex-GF thought it was good but then I brought a few jars of Hellman's back with me from the US. She started eating that shit straight out of the jar.

On the other hand, after spending three months in the US last year, I was seriously jonesing for a Weißwurst Frühstück, with Butterbrezen and a Weizen, only the latter of which I could get while there. I cringed at the American idea of Spätzele.

A Jägerschnitzel with Butterspätzle in a Champignonrahmsauce is great, but I like lots of other foods too, and sometimes even Tuna Helper® is just the thing. Or a Fray Bentos pie. Or even a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (which makes most Brits shudder). I still miss a nice Aussie brekkie of poached eggs Florentine with Turkish toast. I miss good Dim Sum. It's nice to be able to get the ingredients or drinks or snacks I love so much once in a while because, face it, Chio Chips suck, especially when you've had Walker's Salt & Vinegar or Grandma Utz' Handcooked. And there are no Fritos or Cheetos here; Doritos and Snyder's Honey, Mustard and Onion Pretzel Bits are available in limited locations and are terribly expensive.

It's not that German food is inedible; it's that there's other food people like, and we share the information on where to get it here. We do so with a mix of humour and ranting so common in both the UK and parts of the US (and maybe the Aussies but I didn't spend enough time there to be sure about this). I'd almost kill for some food Mexican pupusas and burritos.

If you're looking for all Toytown posts to be shiny happy, you're setting yourself up for some serious disappointment.

woof.
