Hi All
I am leaving Munich at the end of the month for Hamburg and would appreciate some help to find a job.
Does anyone know some good Personnel Agencies over there and possibly some interesting firms.
My background in short
I have a Bachelor of Science in International Business and experience in business admin, accounts, marketing. (Denmark and South Africa) I am in the process of finnishing off an internship in the marketing department in BMW Group. (Munich)
I understand German but do not speak so much yet. Mother tongue is English. Also speak Afrikaans and Danish.
Would really apprciate the help.
Regards,

Hi April,
The biggest firm by far in Hamburg is Airbus (part of the EADS group). I think they employ about 7000 people directly or indirectly. I couldn't tell you which personal agencies they use, but you could apply directly to their personnel dept.
Also Phillips is pretty big here too.

Happy
Got my contract(2 year) yesterday and I start at my new job on Wednesday!
I got the job through an agency called Welt-der-arbeit. You need to be able to speak some German in order for them to try to get you a job or or a temping position. They are a friendly team and really helpful. Can really recommend them.
Parellel to the agency looking for a job for me I also tried the larger firms and the Hamburger Abentblatt (saturday). I generally had better luck with the newspaper. Crazy thing is that now I am getting lots of requests for interviews.

I have heard that Americans cannot be hired by staffing agencies for some reason. Does anyone know if this is true?

@ Conquistador: Good to know. Any idea if this also includes "mini jobs" also known as "400 euro jobs"?
