hi folks!
I just heard about TT and thought i'd check it out. I've been studying and living in the Stuttgart area for over 2 years now, and although I hear people speaking English on the bahn, I have yet to meet any Canadians. At my university (Hohenheim) there are many international students, but in the whole time I've been there I've only come across 2, who were only here for a short time.
So am I the only one? Is Stuttgart just full of Brits and Yanks? I'd really like to know!

I'm from Toronto (going to uni in Waterloo), doing an internship in Germany for four months. I'm staying in Ingelheim (near Mainz), and planning to visit Stuttgart coming weekend (Fri-Sun). Any suggestions what to do, what to see in Stuttgart?

Howdy!
I just joined and thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Vera, and I've been living just outside of Schwaebisch Hall for about 2 years now. I'm 43, married to a German, and have been in Europe since 1999. First a few years in Switzerland, then a couple around Reutlingen, and now we've just bought a house about 25 km south of Schwaebisch Hall so I guess we're finally going to settle down a bit. I'm originally from Toronto. No children, but we've got two dogs.
Anyone else in the area? I've met a few Brits and Americans around here, but no Canadians so far.
Cheers
Vera

Hmm... how about trying the Canadian Consulate in Stuttgart? I'll bet they will do something regarding Canada Day.

hey Charles!
we just had a Canadian leave a couple weeks ago, sadly, but I am still here indefinitely...you should come out sometime on Thursday, see the Chilled nigh out thread

If you can't do Thursdays because of work or whatever, let me know and I'm sure we can arrange another meetup on the weekend sometime.
cheers,

Hey, as my name suggests, I am Canadian as well. Tatjana, I also go to the University of Hohenheim. Someone mentioned you to me actually. We should meet up. There is also another girl who arrived yesterday from Canada. We both go to the University of Guelph. But I am from Toronto. Hope all of us Canadians can meet up.

I am in Heidelberg but wanted to say hello. I also went to the University of Waterloo but graduated many years ago

. I am afraid I may be too old for the university types but if there is anyone over 30 who wants to catch up, perhaps remember what it was like living in Canada, many moons ago, let me know.

hey,
I just moved to stuttgart a couple weeks ago. Wouldnt mind meeting up with some Canadians(or others) my age(24). Its getting pretty boring just knowing my boyfriend, his family and friends. Would like to make some friends of my own.

I don't know many Canadians in the area. I still haven't found the "be all and end all" expat site to find them. expatica.com worked for a while when I was in Karlsruhe. There were a bunch of us expats there. I am a bit older than you but not old enough to be your mom

. There is the fest in Stuttgart at the end of September. I always go so we could meet up there. You can check out my article about the Spring fest in Stuttgart if you like - maybe you have been there? I find the spring and fall fests quite similar (you could almost say identical, although experts would disagree).

Hi Marquie8,
I am new to Germany and TT. Just found the site. I am from Toronto and currently living in Mannheim. I have been here 1 month, moved to join my husband who has a job here in IT. Just wanted to say hi and let you know there is another over 30 Canadian here too.
