Who else went to the Metallica concert last night? I thought the setlist was perfect and the whole concert rocked!! Any other opinions?

Didn't go last night but I've seen them live 8 or 10 times. ALWAYS a kick-ass show.

I have what may seem to be a rather strange question about the Metallica concert for anyone who was there...

What time did it actually finish - i.e. when was the music over and people started leaving for home?

This was not the normal 'German concert'..It was an outdoor event so they played decent set lengths (except for the first one) and decent encore sets as well. It was not short...as normal german concerts are. However, I forget what time the concert finished up...probably around 11:30. I wasn't paying attention to the time...for good reasons mind you.

They just plain kicked ass. Almost all the songs they played, were oldies...Sweet! They had the pyro going for the 'One' intro...just beautiful.

Most touring sets lengths and content including encores are determined by the bands and tour management. Major German venues, including Olympic Stadium have 11pm curfews imposed on them, which usually simply dictates when the concert actually starts.

Chris de Burgh, yesterday, on The Herrenchiemsee island on Chiemesee was an exception. Chris actually flew in from Dublin, and was helicoptered to the lake. He played his own set, in the main unaccompanied, played a couple of unplanned extras then had to leave, only because he would miss the last flight home...

However as a largely uninhabited island I doubt Herrenchiemsee has a curfew...

It was about 1130 when they finished up. Great concert -- really enjoyed that they played alot of the old stuff.

Crowd really got into it on several songs. I am just praying that AC/DC releases a new album and tours while I am over here.

Best DVD I own is AC/DC Live at Donnington, a must see/hear. They rock hard the entire time. Makes the investment I made for a home theater definitely worth it.
