Hi all

Well, before having a german car one should know the language. This is what i figured out after i got my BMW. biggrin.gif . I see an error message"Nebelleicht hi prüfen". I understand that this concerns fog lights probably. But does anybody know what does the "hi" mean? In general what message does it convey?

thanks
Malcolm Spudbury
Could be an abbreviation of "hinten" which means "rear" or "back".

I must admit that after buying my Ferrari I really wish I knew Italian...

It means check your rear fog light. Probably because the bulb has blown.

Go to your garage and ask them to switch it to English. They did it there and then for our car and it is so lovely. Not good for my German though.

Thanks. Just before taking it i was wondering if there is a way i could do it myself(like an ipod or so which you cange the language). Is it a tricky hardware procedure? Appreciate your comments for a first time dummy BMW driver. :-)

I am obviously out of my element a bit since I am way over here in the states but I thought I'd put my two cents in. I have had my BMW for 6 years now and my father replaced the OBC about 5 years ago. To save money he bought the part from Germany so all the messages came stock in german. I found this website http://home.online.no/~st-arhol/enge32obc.htm to be very useful in helping me. Obviously you probably know more German than I but I thought it may be of some help. It doesn't have all the messages but definitely a lot of the most essential ones. I still have a printed copy of this website from 5 years ago in my glovebox! Hope it helps!
