2 weeks in Munich - What to do on Holiday?

Making the most of the city

Hi guys, I'm planning for my brothers visit. He'll be here for about two weeks beginning June 26th. I gotta work during the week so I'm sending him out to play during the day. My problem is, despite the fact I've lived here for several months, I'm still not sure what to recommend to make "the most" out of his trip. He visited me in Frankfurt last year and it was a dud so I have to make good this year, particularly since he's an excellent host everytime I visit him in NYC.

He's been to Munich before and has seen most of the usual sites listed in the travel book. He's a single guy in his mid 30s. Likes beer, cars, girls, xbox. Not necessarily in that order.

I got the beer gardens and museums covered. But what do you guys think of the outline below? Oh and if anyone can answer any of the random questions that would be great.

1. Factory Tours:
a. Local Breweries: Are there any Brewery tours open to the public? I've been to Guiness in Dublin and Budweiser in St. Louis...both were cool. Beer was obviously better at Guiness.
b. Cars: I know BMW has a museum but I think I read about a bonafide factory tour? Couldn't find that thread again. Maybe I just imagined it...

2. Pubs: Gotta admit I've never been to one in Munich (yes workaholic loser is stamped on my forehead) so I'm thinking Gunther Murphys? Any others?

3. Day Trips: I saw lots of options on other TT threads.
a. Neushwantein (sp)
b. Chiemsee (sp)
Note to self: I need to learn how to pronounce those...stop calling em Neu Schwanz (penis) and Kimchee (Korean pickled cabbage salad).
These caught my eye...bad tolz and andechs also look like good options, though Eagles nest is a bit of a bust?

4. A Weekend Trip: Prague??? I saw some thread on this as well. Anyone have a specific hotel recommendation? Looks like the train takes 6 hours, there seems to be some pretty good last minute flight options.

5. A really LOCAL experience:
I'm gonna get him to file my change of address, during the way I will instruct old ladies to cut ahead of him in line and to yell at him if he's crossing against the light. I will also ask him to find me some brown sugar, run the hoover during quite hours and whatnot. No seriously, besides the Beer Gardens, any suggestions for a really Bavarian thing to do?

Thanks smile.gif

Does anyone know the details of the Munich Pub crawl? That always is a blast.
