Engraving a name on a leather belt etc.

Has anyone had leather engraved (burning, stamping or embroidery... any will do!) and can suggest a place to do this? I've tried my local shoe cobbler and he had no idea. I have this kick-ass toolbelt for my father-in-law's retirement gift, and want to put his name on it for pure kitsch. Thanks! smile.gif

I'm not sure how similar that is to burning names or patterns into wood, but I recall seeing shops in the underground level before the Hauptbahnhof selling "cutting boards" with all kinds of cheesy patterns and words of wisdom burned into them. I also saw a stand at the Auer Dult where the proprietor was in the process of creating one of these treasures. Maybe he can burn leather just as easily. Maybe there's one of these types of stands at Tollwood.

there is a place not far from me that specializes in this... i can't remember the name of it... but if you get off at the Münchner Freiheit ubahn stop and walk down hohenzollernstrasse until you hit the women's nike store... then bang a right onto that street... within 50 meters you will hit a little store on the west side of the street has a cowboy western look to it... the make keys, sell leather goods and advertise leather tooling on their storefront.
