Right now there is a film with Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas on and I want to understand what the %^&^*^& theyre saying.. someone told me with movies there is a way (with cable) to go into the teletext function and shut the translation off... do you know how? It would revolutionize my tv enjoyment here in Germany if I knew...

This is possible on very selective films on only one of the channels (sorry forgot the channel), this is not the norm. So generally your stuck with it in German.

Some programmes are transmitted in what the Germans call zwei kanal ton. This means transmitted in the original sound but then dubbed into German. You need to have a tv which has this feature built into it, which then allows you to change between both languages. When you buy a tv magazine it normally says in small print which programs are being transmitted with this feature.
Hope this helps

QUOTE (pepper @ Jun 11 2006, 10:10 pm)

only one of the channels (sorry forgot the channel)
Arte and
Eurosport are only channels I've ever seen with
zwei kanal ton.
Unfortunately the stuff on Arte usually only has French as the other language, and Eurosport
doesn't have English if you're on digital cable.
