Hi All,
Looking for recommendations for ISP providers.
I'm almost there with getting access to the internet.
I have a DeTe phone line, a DeTe DSL line and a lovely DeTe WLAN router.
For some reason (which is quite embarrasing for me) the ordering of the T-online bit didn't happen.
Now, I could simply go-ahead and get T-Online as the ISP provider. But I don't want to wait seven days.
Plus there might be a better (i.e. cheaper) offer out there.
I use the Internet mainly for Skype video call and reading blogs (plus, er, Toytown obviously).
There's always AOL but I've heard so many bad things about it (except from one person) that I'm loathed to use it.
Any other recommendation would be apprecicated.
Cheers,

Not GMX!
It took them 6 weeks to hook up my internet and another 6 weeks to move it when I switched apartments.

Have you tried
www.cablesurf.de ?
They provide the net through the TV cables, so you don't even need to pay the telephone bill...And they are quite cheap.
Good luck :-)

If you have a functioning phone and DSL line, then
Tiscali will have you up and running the same day and charge you €1/month (min 12 months) if you live in the city, €8.90/month if you live outside.

@YorkshireLad6
Regarding Tiscali, If I don't have any phone at home (but I see line connections). Can this service work for me?
I mean can I ask them to provide me both Phone/Internet Acess ? or should I contact another company first ?
Regards

What do you mean you "see line connections"?
A pre-requisite for most ISPs is a phone line, normally from Telekom. If you don't have DSL on that line most will supply it, but take time (4-6 weeks is not unusual). Alternatively get DSL from Telekom (3-5 days) then have the ISP provide Internet service (with such as Tiscali same day) then convert it to their own service later with little or no interruption.

I rent the apartment with no phone there, but there were one some time before as the plugs are there.
So The phone line service can't be requested directly from Tiscali? to clarify this for me I know there are 3 components :
1. phone line
2. DSL service
3. ISP
My question: what Tiscili can't provide me? I thought they also has the phone line service from (phone flatrate) offer! aren't they ?

Tiscali don't supply phones lines. The phone flatrate they offer is VoIP.
