Alright, so I'm craving lobster! (have been for quite some days now) I'll be in Frankfurt over the weekend; can anyone recommend a restaurant which serves lobster tails? Please help...me want lobster!
Keydeck
There's actually a restaurant called Lobster. Haven't been myself so know nothing about it but might be worth giving them a call to see.

If you want to go romantic Avocado in the city centre sometimes does a nice lobster. They are french intercontinental. If you're near the airport, tails are on the usual menu at the grill in the Sheraton airport hotel. Hands down though one of my favourite restaurants in Frankfurt is the M Steakhouse. They have several surf and turf options including steak and lobster tails. Never bothered with the lobster though as I've always gone for the beef. Even the smallest steak portions and the salads are a lot of food so go very hungry. smile.gif

Cheers

M Steakhouse is also recommended by me. jml, I nearly ate the screen looking at the site!
If you love lobster, go to Copenhagen one time.
Lobster wrapped in bacon - proof to me that there may well be a God.

@jml - OMG! that link made me want to lick the screen. damn that looks yummy. unfortunately, i've always liked my steaks medium and can't stand to eat any beef (steak) cooked over that. the doc says steaks (and all meats for that matter) must be well done sad.gif so steaks are off the menu as well as sushi. two of my favorites. but i may well check it out nonetheless, since mr. ajohnson doesn't have to suffer along with me.

@ keydeck - found a few review online for Lobster. Looks nice from the pics too. may well check it out since it's very easy to get to from where I am staying. wink.gif thanks for the tip.

surf and turf are part of the same chain as M steakhouse and they also run the new Ivory Club, which is quite posh and expensive, but special.

You can definitely develop adult allergies, Im now allergic to one of my favourite all time dishes: dungeness crabs. Bah. I have to be careful with lobster but I still push it from time to time. Im hitting Maine in July actually. Hehe.

Does the Nordsee offer steam lobsters? You can usually get these from markets from the states, its a great no fuss way to get your lobsters and usually cheaper than goint to a restaurant.

Anyhoo, ms johnson, hit the M steakhouse never tried it but the "Angel Hair Diabolo with whole Lobster" might just be what the doctor ordered. Oh and you could steal a bite from your man's meat. Er, you know.

PS: Thanks for the ivory coast tip too smile.gif
Purple Muffin
On Domstr. there is Fisch Franke I went there a few years ago.

I must confess I have never been impressed with any of the fish/seafood establishments in Frankfurt

In general, I quite agree with Purple Muffin.

However, a couple of years ago I discovered King Creole in Eckenheim ( suburban Frankfurt ) - seafood in a New Orleans style ( there are plaques on the walls denoting awards for the best "auslander" food in Germany ). It has become THE place to take visiting friends / relatives or the girlfriend for birthdays and other special occasions.

IMHO No better food in all of Frankfurt. Haven't noticed if lobster is on the menu ( pretty sure it is ) but they are the kind of place that if you mentioned a special requirement when you called for your reservation ( generally required ), they would be sure to get in what you wanted - and the chef would do something really creative with it. We usually have one of their very nice salads and the seafood platter for two ( really enough for three ) which is constantly changing and just great! The service is also impeccable.

Here is a link to CNN that mentions the place:

There's also a nice restaurant called "Surf and Turf" on Liebigstrasse near the big park whose name escapes me.

Nice seating outside, rather quite and a good wine selection!

Hi,

Lobster (the restaurant on Wallstrasse in Sachsenhausen) has no Lobster (cockroach of the sea) on the menu although they do have a dozen or so wines by the glass and a nice shrimp appetizer thingy that will make you happy. They also do a very good imitation of a French bistro (which is what they are). smile.gif

@Tim - I guess it's a good thing that we didn't go there then. wink.gif But thanks for the heads-up.

Instead, we decided that we would try the King Creole restaurant recommended above. No lobster but damn good food. Had a very nice evening. M Steakhouse is next on the list. Probably some time this week. wink.gif

Sorry they had no lobster - but glad you liked the food - it is quite a good restaurant, particularily for Germany. Please don't tell too many people about the place wink.gif - we have been denied reservations due to them being completely booked more than once.
White HEART Lane
I found a restaurant that serves lobster in frankfurt, not sure if you still need the info, but its called the "Paris Cafe" just off SchweizerStraße.

Take the U1, U2, or U3 to Schweizerplatz, and look for the supermarket Tengelmann. Facing Tengelmann, take the turning on the left, and the cafe is about 25metres on the right. Its quite small, but cosy. I spotted there offerings while watching the football in their quoffing some Rose wine...

Dont eat Lobster myself, so cant vouch for the quality.
