Edeka at Munich Airport open 24/7 during World Cup

Good news for night owls - the Edeka supermarket at Munich airport will stay open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the World Cup, i.e. from 9th of June to 9th of July. What's more, they will give a 24% discount on purchases made between 1 and 4 a.m. (Tobacco, alcohol and newspapers/magazines are excluded from the discount.) So get down there in the wee small hours and stock up your freezer!

Are they generally more expensive to begin with though?

Bit far to go for a spot of grocery shopping for me...I think the train fare would well and truly negate any savings too.
Maybe, if we're lucky, other supermarkets will follow suit, and just maybe a few of them will keep the 24 hour thing going after the WC finishes...dreams are free.

Great, so anybody getting away from the WC can do some last minute grocery shopping just before they get on the plane to bugger off somewhere nice!

I use the airport supermarket a fair bit and as far as I can tell it's pretty much the usual prices.

Actually their contract with the Airport Authority states that they can NOT charge more for items, than stores in town..

AKA: No higher prices.. (Same Prices at all EDEKA's)

Edeka at the Hauptbahnhof will be open Mon – Sat till 10 p.m. from 9th June to 9th July.

On Sunday, June 18, they will also be open from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.

I may well be working at the airport during those times, so if anyone wants a carton of milk or anything let me know

Where is the Edeka at Hbf?

Down on the UG level.. The Level you get to when you go up one level from the S-Bahn Platforms.. It's the big food store, where the backery,Deli is...
And I don't think it's an EDEKA, but rather a Hertie

I never saw Edeka at Hbf , where exactly on Hbf can one see it?

It is U1 level but at Elisenhof. So instead of going into Hertie Markthallen food hall, walk towards the underground entrance to Müller Drogerie. You are now in the basement of the Elisenhof, keep walking and Edeka is at the end on the righthand side.
But Hertie's nicer obviously (and not that much more expensive and a lot cleaner so a better choice if you're a bit picky).

Deff.. Hertie is much nicer,cleaner and has super fresh veggies,fruit, and seafood. They also have special import and speciality counters, as well as some US Imports near the back. The place is always packed (Must be that way for a reason)
