LH specials are highly recommended. Bring or bribe a person with a kid in a stroller and you get bumped up to the front of the line at the museums.

If you end up with the "International" Hotel Mercure 4 Star near the Eiffel Tower, note:

1. 4 star is actually the name of the damn place and not the quality of the place. Also note:
2. the en suite "seating area" is in fact akin to a twin bed made up like a sofa. Bad on the eyes but probably useful for sharing rooms.
3. attempting to plug in any electrical devices, even the ones provided by the hotel may result in shorting out the electricity. They are however speedy to fix it, regardless of how many times you fry the place up. Allegedly. ph34r.gif

Only complaint is that DeGaul airport is dingy, boring and well all around sucky if such a word exists.

LH specials

what does this mean?
jml
LH = Lufthansa

oh..hehe..sorry..too damn early in the morning.

de Gaulle is in fact disgusting. I still have nightmares about when the janitorial staff were on strike. Not only did they not clean the loos, they "dirtied" them specially before they left. It was beyond revolting. And why does it seem you often have to exit your gate through the broom closet to get to baggage?

It seems there are lots of specials for Paris this summer (HINT to my pals!). I saw a similar deal for LH for the weekend of July 8th if you can believe it (yes, see you then smile.gif). And dba has been having specials to Orly.

related thread: Paris with Mini Kids. Oh and the floor of DeGaul is always gross, as in keep the crawling kids in the pram gross.

BB: I can send the kid - she's dying to go back but has noted Germany is nicer than France. laugh.gif

jml: yes, some people don't like their streets and subways to smell like pee. go figure. and, no, children are best observed/ignored from afar. imho. biggrin.gif

*side note: cable guy came to install my cable and internet yesterday. asked why on earth I moved from Germany right before the world cup. sigh.

There are only actually six games being played in Munich, two of which don't kick off until 9pm, so it shouldn't affect you to the extent that you're having nightmares... It will be easy enough to avoid the fans.
