Manic Street Preachers are playing at Elserhalle on 9th November, tickets 30 euros.

Are any Toytowners going?
Hazza
I thought they'd split up...
Malcolm Spudbury
I think this is their "goodbye" tour. And they'd better not cancel it like they did last year, the bastards.
Hazza
I heard they'd split up about a year ago. Bloody long goodbye tour!!
Malcolm Spudbury
I heard rumours that the reason they cancelled the gig last year was because they'd split, but I never took it seriously. Another rumour was that they'd cancelled all the european dates because they didn't want to fly so soon after september 11th, the wusses.

Aswell as being the "goodbye" tour, this one is to promote their "best of" album.

Have a look at http://www.foreverdelayed.com, they have all the latest info about the manics

Anyway, at this stage I doubt I'll go. Though I did see them in Australia in 97 at a festival and they were much better than I thought they'd be.
Malcolm Spudbury
Were you expecting them to be crap? I though they were supposed to be good live...

This will be the first time I've seen them, so I'm quite looking forward to it. It *would* have been the second time if they hadn't wussed out last year...
Hazza
I hadn't heard too much of them before. They weren't all that popular in Aus.

I thought they might be crap - but only because I didn't realise they were quite an accomplished band.

The Manics are a fantastic band... looks like one of the first things I'm gonna do when I arrive is to get tickets for the gig!

Malcolm Spudbury
So who's got tickets for this, if anyone?
pootle
Hmm I've not. wonder if its a sell out yet. Might go get tickets tonight...

Malcolm Spudbury
If it's sold out I imagine there will be people selling them at the door if you get there early enough.
pootle
Have got my tickets smile.gif

That should narrow it down then...

I'll be going for a meal before the concert with a load of other people. Not sure where yet - I'll post the info here if you want to come along.

By the way pootle, were you the guy wearing the wales top who got told to take the earplugs out?

And can you give me any tips for taking better digital pics? :?
Jake McVitie
Wearing ear-plugs at a music concert??? Isn't that a bit like wearing a blindfold to an art gallery? I'm not surprised Taffy got disciplined. Madness! Was he wearing velcro gloves too? You know what these Welsh are like.
pootle
didn't make the concert. was at home being very ill (and I#m not gonna go into details on ehre...)

My hearing is already f****d from stage managing too many gigs at uni, I don't need ear plugs.

Was the gig good??
