German keyboards - where to buy

...and where to find the software and key labels

I bought a new laptop in the States. I really want the German keyboard. Anyone out there know where to get the software to change the language so I can automatically write in German, like in emails? Are there stickers or keys I can buy as well?

Buy a new keyboard. They're cheap. Go into your peripheral settings and change to German keyboard.

Peachy said it was a LAPTOP - so maybe not so cheap to swap!

You can do it like this with sticky clear labels (the posh solution):

or you can look here:

and use a pen of some sort to mark the keyboard for when you are switching into German, which you can do very easily in Windows. I know some people use fluorescent ink so it shows up but does not look hideous.

or you could use a new external keyboard (maybe even bluetooth or wireless) most of the time when writing in German.

You buy a USB peripheral keyboard. It is just like using an external mouse only it is a keyboard. Works great it does.

You could buy a new German keyboard to fit in the laptop, would take a bit of know how, and price would vary depending on the model. What laptop is it?

Thanks, everyone! I found these clear stickers with blue writing. I'm having my family ship them from the States. OTherwise I look totally half-ass without the German letters in emails and things.
