If in Hamburg, be sure to check out the "Fire-trap" hostel in Altona as used by many for short stays. I think the real name is Hotel Hamburg Altona.

The Stern Hotel on Reeperbahn is more like a hostel, I believe. Have never stayed there but its cheap.

More like a rent-per-hour hotel I believe Mat, so I've heard. ph34r.gif

Hello,

I am looking for a cheap (nice) hostel in Hamburg. I'll be there for a job interview around the 18th of April. Any ideas or recommendations?

Depends how cheap & where you want to be and if you have transport.

I regularly drive past the ETAP hotel close to Kielerstrasse...
It looks clean & well-visited. Dont expect it to be close to a hotspot of city life though...

Look at www.etaphotel.com & search for Hamburg.

More like a rent-per-hour hotel I believe Mat, so I've heard.

So the "cheap price" is the hourly rate? Makes it rather expensive. Does the rate mean it's fully furnished?

I think BD was referring to it being on the Reeperbahn and the girls who work in that area. wink.gif

It's supposed to be very basic, but it is in the middle of the Reeps if that's what you want to see. Also check out the Hotel Hamburg Altona. Cheap and basic and right near Altona train station - just a few stops from the middle of town and other tourist attractions. You might as well see a bit while you're here.

If hes hanging out near the Reeperbahn he may well see several "bits". sad.gif

I need something very central. I'd like to walk around to see if I like the city.

Yeah,I gathered that. That was what meant by the room being "fully furnished" cool.gif

I stayed at the DJH on the hill facing the harbour, behind S: Landungsbrueke with U- and S-Bahn to get anywhere, even late at night (on weekends). The hostel is brand new and clean! The Speicherstadt, Portugueseviertel (small good restaurants) and St. Michael church are next door, and you can even walk to the city centre.

Can someone please recommend any nice, cheap hotels/hostels in an area of Hamburg where loads is happening?! A few of us Toytowners from Berlin are paying a wee visit soon.

Thanks
