We are a small event management and construction company with offices and workshops on the eastern edge of Munich city working with international clients on corporate events, exhibitions and productions across Europe. Because of additional workload being planned for 2006 our event workshop is looking to increase its current list of scenic carpenter and construction technicians to help in forthcoming events. We need:
- Competent carpenter and wood construction technicians
- Freelance work only - you must be registered and permitted to work (self employed) in Germany, be able to issue legal invoices and have your own professional laibility insurance
- Fluent English speaker, German or other European language skills would be useful but are not essential.
- Able to understand technical drawings and apply them to construction detail
- Aware of and responsible with health and safety issues related to hand and workshop carpentry tools and their use
- Able to work as part of team, often under pressure on-site, often long hours, evenings and weekends
- Periodically able to travel
- Experience of event work is clearly an advantage, but not essential
We maintain lists of interested technicians and their skills, to call on on a per-event basis according to specific needs. A typical event requires 3-10 days preparation as part of a team in our own workshop and 2-5 days on site, usually in a capital city somewhere in Europe. Events planned for the rest of 2006 include locations such as Athens, Berlin, Brussels, Barcelona, London, Munich and Salzburg. As our workshop in in the countryside to the east of Munich city it is not easilly accessible by public transport so having your own transport is an advantage but not essential. We normally pay an agreed daily rate for work in the workshop and on-site, plus all travel and accommodation costs where applicable for work outside of Munich. Our current team-list include British, Scots, New Zealand, American and German nationals who are professional in their work and fun to work and socialise with. We often supplement these guys with people we know well with skills specific to a particular aspect of event construction, usually from UK.
If you are interested in this work, please PM me in the first instance with your details and contact phone numbers. We'll talk on the phone, invite you to meet us for a chat and show you our facilities, and if there is a mutual interest to work together we'll try to involve you in one of our next events with the current team members (paid, of course!)
Some pictures of our recent events are shown below so you can get an idea of what we do.
