Does anyone have a tandem bike attachment that we can borrow or rent for a day on Saturday, June 10? We have a group of American students coming to Munich for a day as part of a 12-day European study abroad program, and we'll be renting bikes to get around to see the city. We just discovered that one of our students never learned to ride a bike ... which puts a huge kink in our plan! I'm working with Mike's Bike Shop and they're being great about it - they're trying to find a tandem bike to purchase in time for our visit. But just in case they're unable to get one in time, I figured it would be good to have a backup plan. Please let me know if anyone has one we could use ... or if anyone knows where one could be purchased in Munich. THANKS!

I saw a nice tandem Schwinn cruiser at a bike shop near the corner of Belgradstr. and Karl-Theodor-Strasse. It's maybe 100 meters north of that intersection on Belgradstr. I'm 95% sure that it was for rent, and not for sale, but I can't remember exactly. Definitely worth checking out if you have a chance.
edit: ah, didn't notice you weren't in Munich. I'll try to get the name of the shop this afternoon, if I get a chance.

i'm looking for a tandem bycicle for hire for a weekend. i'd like to try and go cycling with my girlfriend and before buying one i thought i rent one to see if it works out. my preference would be a road tandem. but for a initial trial i'll take any that is available. i'm 175cm and my girlfriend is 158cm. if somebody has one or know where to get one i would be interested in the info.

I think someone asked this before, I don't know if they had any luck, but there is a list of tandem dealers here:
