Munich's birthday party! 18-20th June 2004

Have just read that during the weekend of June 18th to June 20th, Munich will be celebrating its 846th Birthday, as a result there will be a street party between Marienplatz and Odeonsplatz along the pedestrian zone !

Usually this means food, beer and loud live music.

What's so special about 846?

You just have to understand bavarians. To just drink beer because you enjoy it is not good enough, you have to make a festival out of it ! Munich birthday, Oktoberfest, Strong Beer fest, Tollwood, etc. etc... Drink beer and lets make an excuse as to why we are doing it !!

Why get all complicated about a reason drink beer?

Today was a nice day, I had the day off work...so I sat in Beergarden and drank beer.

Well it is the Number of the Beast plus the best you can do from the Oche. Sort of the number of the Bristow beast if you will.

If that's not an indication of occult goings-on then I don't know what is.

The fastival sounds good. I 'm going to be in Munich this week from Wednesday.. anyone want to meet up at the festival?? would be nice...still looking for my 10 reasons why I should move to Munich, this may be on eof them...

My first weekend ever in Munich was on the 844th birthday, which was a good weekend (it made me decide going to Munich for a longer time). So I'll be there as well. It's not something for a whole weekend though, one day is enough. It's not THAT big...

Anyone planning on having a mooch about at this tomorrow or Sunday??

I am thinking Sunday too. Tomorrow is more footie, so will be in Murphys for that. Sunday is fresh air and no pub day. Instead sausages & beer with friends (if the weather holds )

Aaaarrgh - just been for lunch with mum and she has reminded me that it is Fathers Day on Sunday! (in the UK). They are gonna come into Munich so I can take them out for dinner (how nice of them!)

Not sure what time though, I think I will bring them along as they are always up for a few ales. Poots are you reckoning 2?
