Is there some specific forum to excercise German language? Maybe from Germans themselves? Or any existing thread on this site?

Germany's English-speaking crowd

Humm.. Nope, I don't think so...
Keydeck
Well the English-speaking crowd would be the ones who most need to practice their German.

There's nothing on this site, but just go to any German forum and ask a few questions about something. That's your practice right there.

Tis not a bad idea though. It'd be cool to have a thread here on TT where peeps can practice their German. I reckon I would.
Moonboot
Isn't there a website in England for German ex-pats? I can't find the link. That'd be a cool one to log on to! Find out what they moan about!

Oooh, I found it: www.deutsche-in-london.net/forum
HelterSkelter
Well, there is the translation forum...

There is no part in TT where you can write in german, but more or less every two weeks or whenever there is the german stammtisch which is just going out for drinks or eating and all conversation goes on in german. That may be something that could be of interest to you.

It just seems that there isn't any planned in the near future, but just stay aware for the next one.

what, you mean so people can learn each other's mistakes? ehem, sorry, I mean learn FROM each other's mistakes?

i really don't think a German language thread or sub-forum would work on TT. The first person to write something incorrect would be ripped to shreds by the TT spelling and grammar police thus killing anyone else's desire to post.
Yeti
You missed a capital "I" there, O.G..
Timmeh
I dunno, if it's a thread to help people learn, I don't think it'd come across as very cool if the posters are ripped to shreds for trying to learn, I reckon it'll just make the person doing the ripping look like a cock (or more of a cock than they already are)

Yeah, I was about to pipe up that I thought it would be a great idea as well but on second thought I think maybe you're right.

Too many pedants on this forum dry.gif

EDIT: it might work as a subscribe only type forum though where people get kicked out if they act like twats.

For practising German you could try to find someone on MSN, I think it´s a nice possibility to practise a language, I do this as well to practise my English and Spanish. I can add you if you like biggrin.gif

Best way to practice your German is by buying and selling on ebay.de - especially when you end up having to argue with people via email.
