Alternative club night out

Right, let's see if this fancy new poll thing works. I'm up for another alternative music club night out. This usually means heavy metal/nu metal mixed in with a bit of punk and ska. The dates above are when I'm free over the next 2 weeks, but if they're bad for everyone else, we could always postpone it.

Let me know where you want to try! I wouldn't mind going to Backstage as I've never been. ER - which night is best there?

With some clubs it depends if we decide on a Friday or Saturday night, for example Pulverturm is goth on a Friday, but reggae on a Saturday, so bear this in mind!

It's been a while. I think it was Friday that was best but Saturday is good too.

Also good when it's a little warmer as they have an outdoor dancefloor/bar area as well.

I'll post up what's happening on those dates at those places next week when the info's online on their sites. I *think* the world cup might start 9th June, so it might be a bad day for some of you?

World Cup first match is on 9th June in Fröttmanning - Germany's playing so there will be a lot of folk out and about (and lots of traffic problems etc.).
Think Backstage has big screens up for the matches as will many other venues.

If so, I want to avoid venues showing the football match! But it shouldn't be on TV so late anyway I presume. Anyway, let's see which date everyone settles on.

Would Prager Frühling be a good alternative place to go? I keep hearing about it.

me too, I've checked out their homepage and the Toytown review... seems like a fun place. Anyhow, wherever this ends up, I'm interested. Haven't been to many alt clubs here.

AFAIK, Prager Fruehling plays similar music to Atomic Cafe, i.e. Britpop-esque. Does anyone know anymore?

I've been their twice. Once the night was called lost club, and from the advertising it sounded as though it would be post-punk, but it ended up being a bit 80s goth/synthy, not my cup of tea, but some people like that sort of thing.

The other time was after a gig, and it was very indie disco, lots of early 90s Britpop, with some Smiths thrown in for good measure.

I'm not around for either of those dates, but would be interested in a night out like this a few weeks later...

Ok, I think that after this poll, it looks better to wait for a few weeks until the other half of the voters can make it! Saturday night looks the best for everyone.

Problem is, I am only free Sat 10th June and Sat 17th June. Someone else feel free to organise if the other dates I suggest are no good. Otherwise, it'd be great of you could write which date you prefer below here!
