Just to let anyone know who wants to come but doesn't think they can make 1020 at Haupt. - Kza and myself (and potentially others...??) will be watching the rugby at Ned's, which kicks off 9.35am, and then we plan to go to Andechs after that. So will probably aim for 11.40 or 12.00 S5 from Haupt. (depending on whether it's a whitewash or a close game...) so if you want to meet us at the same place as pootle says, but around 11.30ish.

Remember if you are setting with everyone at 10.20am, to put your name down here. It makes it easier to know how many group tickets we will need.

1 beer? I was thinking more like 100Euros...

I was wondering if we could sit somewhere close to a playground cause I'm bringing Daniel, my son, with me.

I've been to Andechs about 10 times and I don't remember a playground being remotely close. But, then again I don't remember much from those 10 trips anyway...They're all blurry with memory gaps for some reason??

Andechs is not Kinder friendly.

TO be honest MommyinDE, if the weather is good on saturday, we'll sit wheres theres seats. theres not much more we can do than that.

ok I'm going to try it with daniel. If he starts getting to crazy i.e. climbing on top of people we DON'T KNOW then I'll just leave. I'm not going to ruin everybody elses day if he starts getting out of hand

Bring some rope and some tranquilisers and he'll be fine, I'm sure. Failing that it's never to early to start a young man on beer. One Maß and I'm sure he'll quieten down.

Just give him some gravel to chuck around the place and he'll be fine

give him a massive brez'n. by the time he's finished it he'll be so full he'll fall asleep. the gravel isn't actaly a bad idea, buy a bob the builder digger from obletter and your rocking. failing that give him to some poor unsuspecting omma, andechs is full of 'em.

If you take the bus up and down the hill theres not much walking at all involved is there?

Those times aren't exactly ideal though to be honest - however, badger, if u wanna come then let me know and we'll do out best to get u up that damn hill. As for getting down it...errr...yeah, well, no idea.
And if ur leg is in a bad way after last weekend, perhaps it's not such a good idea...up to you though, I hereby volunteer to do what I can.

Going back down -

1700, 1800 and 1855

Last time we got the 1800 and the train was there at the station when we got back down.

The problem really is the hill. the bus will leave me at the foot of that hill which the monastery is built on, and it's a steep hill - which I really don't think I could deal with since steps are difficult but slopes are really tough. And I can't afford to stumble.
So I think it would really be the wisest to leave it... BOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!

thejarvii and badger can just do a 3-legged race but put their weight on their good legs.

Wont there be taxi's at the foot of that hill? I am sure I saw some the last time.

Boss from US was in town so didn't know if I had to do something with work colleagues until today.

We could 'borrow' a wheelchair from the Schwabinger Krankenhaus...They wouldn't miss it! It puts those hard earned healthcare dollars to actual use. Actually, I could walk in and ask for a wheelchair and flash my Private Insurance card...I'm sure that would work!! I'd probably end up with 3 sweet electric wheelchairs!!

Well, tell you what: Don't go on how great it was (please!) and we'll just organise another one in, say four to six weeks' time? Sorta the badger-I'm-back trip.

ok Badger, I'm honest...we had rain...

It started out nice, but after a while there was this cloud coming, and it was pouring down a bit for a long while. When the sun came out, there was only one spot in the sun left...

good times. that's all there is to say. very nice folks and relatively gentle to newcomers. The weather only made it more interesting.

Pictures are already online. I've had many emails from people who couldn't see the full-sized pictures. When you register with the site, you can see all of 'em. I'm just trying to keep the bandwidth a little decent, that's why I do the register-thing on it.

That's the proof: life is not fair.

despite the rain, some of us still seemed impervious to it. only when it poured down did most flee to the inside. even with sprinkles we were tough enough and did not melt. it was all in all a great day. i had a fab time. am still reeling from it.

the s-bahn ride back was colorful.

Wonderful day out despite the rain. Great beer, food and company! Certainly an eventful s-bahn ride home for some as well!

What happened on the Sbahn?

My peaceful ride home was shattered by some screaming kids all the way back, and I just wanted to sleep
