Free business cards / personal contact cards

Vistaprint and Amazon.com

I received a flyer with my latest Amazon order for a company offering to print 250 business cards for you for free! (exclusive offer for Amazon customers, apparently).

All you have to do is go to www.vistaprint.de/amazon8

It's a limited offer till 31st May. More than 6 million customers are satisified with them apparently. I haven't used them myself, as I feel a bit iffy about entering all my personal details onto a website, but if you don't care, then hey, they're for free (instead of EUR 19.99).

Enjoy!

Already ordered last week but under: www.VistaPrint.de/amazon2 (postage is not cheap).

6 euros seems ok to me.

Postage is o.k., but they try to lure you into other sales... and with a glass of wine (or two) I may bite!

The reason they do it is to harvest addresses for future marketing. I took advantage of their free business card offer and have regretted it ever since. I must get sent up to a dozen spam mails from Vistaprint every month, each one telling you about some "special" "last chance" offer which only has 3 more days to run or whatever. Ive tried twice mailing them telling them to take me off their list, but the spam keeps coming. Looks like Im doomed to remain on their spam list as a "live" address now for the rest of my life.

My advice: Finger weg! The cards are poor quality anyway.

Hmm, good to have some feedback. I guess you could either give a fake address or briefly set up a free GMX email account. Will investigate in the morning. They are also offering free address labels, magnets and ink stamps. Thanks for the heads-up, UrbanAngel.

Thanks for the feedback, Rick. I thought maybe I was being too suspicious (nothing's for free..) but I guess not smile.gif

No such thing as a free lunch!
Small Town Boy

But you don't have a problem using Amazon? blink.gif

They "only" spam me via my email address (since I ordered the biz cards online at vistaprint.de), but thats annoying enough.

Unless people are in business services or something, translator, accountant etc where presumably cards are useful when you meet someone socially and want to postpone any business dialogue to another date, i find it really spooky when a private individual gives me a card with their address, tel No's etc on huh.gif

Is that just me and it's normal practice or is it kinda weird like i think ?

It's a lot simpler than trying to find a pen that works, write it on the back of a soggy mat, all at 2am in the morning after several pints of beverage.

In the Far East I believe its more common for people to exchange cards. Youre also expected to handle them
as if theyre made of cut glass and study them intently for 5 minutes before putting them away!

But you don't have a problem using Amazon?

you log into an account with amazon - you didn't seem to need one with Vista Print.

I ORDERED SOME VISIT CARDS ON WEDNESDAY. IT ONLY COST ME 6 EUR. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THEM TO ARRIVE? FROM THE DAY YOU MAKE THE ORDER?... ANYONE HAS RECEIVED THEM YET? I THINK THEY COME FROM NETHERLANDS. dry.gif

shhhh, amie, don't shout it's friday.

And please refrain the rest of the week as well... smile.gif

the standard is 21 days for cheapo shipping, you could have paid more for a quicker turn around but if you didn't then it'll be a while yet.

Online services are often very slow. A decent Litho-printer is often better but more expensive.

Mine came today, so it took about two weeks. As reported, I have been flooded with e-mails from vistaprint since the order was placed. The quality is disappointing; as the cards are much darker then they appeared on screen. But I will use them. My advice is to avoid vistaprint: when they bombard you with e-mails, you get mad, and would then never want to deal with them again.
Small Town Boy
Just set up a free email account with GMX or Yahoo! and give them that address. Once the cards have arrived, you never need look at that inbox again.

Or block their address.

I have used vista print for a couple of years now, (vistaprint.com) in America and I have been generally happy with their quaity and prices (when you remove the vista print logo on the back they charge you extra along with using a custom design)

The only negative thing about them is that their cusomer service kina sucks. I had a problem with one order not being the same as the previous order and they basically said that it was my problem not theirs because they changed the way they make the cards.

I guess you could either give a fake address or briefly set up a free GMX email account.

The'll send you spam on the email address you give them. I suppose one can't give them two email addresses telling:"Here is my normal business address, please put it on the card and here is the one I have opened at GMX for your spam". They also put their website address on the back of the card, so basically every time you use the card, you advertise Vistaprint.

Especially in Germany, where everybody knows this company, I wouldn't make my business cards by Vistaprint. Potential clients might think that either I'm not serious about my business or that I'm so bad that I can't afford buying proper cards.

I ordered by the way cards the other day, 34 euros for 200. I hope Finanzamt will accept it as expences.
