I just thought I'd share a great tip I recently discovered for defrosting tortillas. I got a bunch of frozen tortillas from Mercado de México here in Munich and have been busy using them up. They separate from one another quite easily, then it's just a matter of heating them up. The easiest and best way I've found to heat them is to turn on one of the stove elements to high, throw a cookie cooling rack or oven grill on top of it, and just put the tortilla on that, flipping it once or twice until it's warm. Takes about 15 seconds.

I was so thrilled to figure out a way to do this that was simple, caused no washing up and left the tortillas non-soggy (unlike the microwave), I had to tell the rest of you.

My best friend in high school's mother used to make her tortillas on the stove top - directly. The nummiest tortillas I have ever eaten...

Yeah, I tried that at first, but I found them sticking to the element. The grill keeps it off the element for the most part.
