Hi All,

As you probably know, since St. Patricks Day is the 17th (i.e. Monday) the main celebrations will be taking place on Sunday.

All the information regarding the parade can be found at

I'll most likely be heading in the direction of an early liver transplant under the supervision of the Kilian's bar staff. If you're thinking about going there I strongly suggest getting in early. Last year we arrived in the pub at about 4pm, managed to get about the last table and by about 5 it was absolutely stuffed.

So if you fancy being a Plastic Paddy for the day come along and have a few pints.

My friend and I are just through the door, after spending a fabulous time at the ST. Patrick's day celebrations. Unfortunately, Kilian's was as you predicted, full to bursting, as was Bondi's.
Instead we headed to the Hofbrauhaus, where we enjoyed a great evenings entertainment. The Ben Lomond pipe band were playing, I believe as a result of requests by the punters and the regular oompa band were a good backing group. The atmosphere was very jolly and everyone appeared to be having a fling. I know I did, I'm now hoarse from singing.
How was Kilian's?

Arrived in Kilian's just after 2pm and by 4 it was stuffed. It took us a while to get into the swing of things, due to suffering from the night before, but eventually we got going and it was a great night. The hero of the night was Paddy the Leprechaun. He got snogged by every girl in the place. And now I'm suffering again. Lots of photos which I'll post in the next day or two.

Were they after his lucky charms?

I regret that after having taken part in the St. Pat's Day Munich celebrations for the past two years, this year I had to skip the biggest celebration on the continent due to a needed weekend away.

However, some of you might be amused/heartened/dismayed/bored to learn that Ljubljana had its Irish up. A small contingent of folks from the Emerald Isle (or pretty good posers) had a session near the Triple Bridge with a large audience of people sunning themselves outside the nearby cafes.
