QUOTE
The "official" SA Stammtisch dates back to December 2000 when some okes managed to scramble a few email addresses together & the rest of the "Marketing" was done by skinner (word of mouth)! We were pleasantly surprised to have a turnout of more than 30 people for the event! The Stammtisch has never looked back since!
The format of the Stammtisch has always been adapted to the time of year…well, almost always (it is not unusual for the hardcore braai-addicts to be flaming up some chops & wors during March or November!). Generally, we tend to have at least 2 braai's during summer, a visit to the Weinachtsmarkt in winter & get-togethers at various restaurants & pubs during the rest of the year.
Over the years the Stammtisch Mailing list has grown to 160+.

Obviously for privacy reasons I cannot put up the list of all the people who have confirmed their presence at the stammtisch as many are not even part of Toytown.

Hope this solves some doubts

cheers

quite understand Maz - no worries - sadly however we won't be able to make this Saturday anymore as we have decided to go to Salzburg for the w/e! Apologies but would appreciate if you would put me on your mailing list for any future braais etc - there are at least 7 or 8 of us that would like to come along to a future event at some time. Have a great one!

My first Stammtisch and I enjoyed myself a lot. smile.gif Although I did get insulted the whole evening for being a Capetonian. sleep.gif In an act of selflessness however, I turned the other cheek and forgave my brother for being so mean to me. A fun evening, will definitely return. Thanks to the organisers!

Hi All,

the next Stammtisch will take place on Saturday, 5th of August at the
Chinese Tower from 15:00 onwards! Log on to http://www.chinaturm.de/ for
more information on the venue.

The Springboks take on the Aussies for the TriNations at 12:00 the same day,

to the English Garden for the Stammtisch!

What language is predominantly spoken at these events?

Not trying to be funny or anything, just honestly don't understand much afrikaans anymore and wouldn't want to be stuck in the "world of silence".

English is the spoken language. A little afrikaans perhaps but just for laughs. tongue.gif Come along and have a great time. But let me know sometime beforehand.

Howzit All!

After all the winter hibernation, it's time for the next Stammtisch:

Venue: Mongo's Restaurant in Munich

Date: Saturday, 3rd of March 2007
Time: 19:30

Info:www.mongos.de

Oberanger 28 (nr. St. Jakobs Platz)
Central Munich
U/S-Bahn Marienplatz or Sendlinger Tor
Tel. 089 23225800

I have booked 25 seats at Mongo's & am awaiting a confirmation from the
restaurant.

Please let me know by the end of this week, latest by the 25th of February,
if you will be joining or not.

Mongo's is usually booked out well in advance & they do not hesitate in
allocating seats to other guests if these are not taken by the booking
within 15 MIN of the given time!! This is the reason we need you to confirm
so that we can inform the restaurant on the exact number.

Unfortunately there WILL NOT be seating available to those who do not
confirm & pitch up that evening, as the restaurant will allocate the seats
to other guests!

Please confirm with Max, Mike, Hilton or myself.

Have a great week,

Cheers for now,

max from Your SA Munich Team!

Howzit All!

After the over extended holiday, I am glad to bring you the June Stammtisch :
and seeing we've been having such fantastic weather
THIS TIME ITS A BRAAI!!!

Venue: Westpark

Get there by U-bahn U6 (Westpark station to the South of the park)
or by S-bahn S27 (Heimeranplatz to the North of the park) or by car, but do get there!!!.

Date:
Saturday, 9th of June 2007
Time: 11:00 am but try to get their early as the place fills up quick!

I have tentatively marked with a red X where we should have the braai. If however, someone has a better idea I am open to suggestions.

As with all braais bring all the stuff you need!!
There are some braaing facilities at Westpark but to be sure it would be best if some people brought along their own braaing gear. Once again as in the past, we cannot guarantee the weather, so in case of rain we will then communicate an alternative venue to be held on the same date.

Please confirm any details or questions with Victor, Mike, Hilton or myself. Cheers
Max

Howzit All!

a couple of us got together and thought that it’s time for a little change regarding the SA-Stammtisch.

As from July the Stammtisch will be held on a regular base, every 1st Saturday of the month, 19:00 at the Augustiner am Dom Wirtshaus. So put it in your diaries! We will still send you a reminder e-mail approximately 1 week before every Stammtisch – just in case.

In addition and as some of you probably know, we also meet up to watch rugby either at The Outland or at Kilians /Ned Kellys. These details along with the World Cup fixtures will also be posted on the website – so come and join if you are keen on watching speedy-Habana & the bokke
kick some Aussi, Kiwi & other asses ;-)

During the year we will still organise some additional get-togethers such as braais, tennis tournaments etc. We will keep you guys up to date on these via e-mail & also please do keep an eye on the SA-Munich website.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the 1st regular Stammtisch:
Date: July 7th at 19:00
Venue: Augustiner am Dom
