I have some interviews coming up and a couple are in Germany. What are some typical items to negotiate for in Germany. For the US counterparts it usually is: Car, vacation days, work computer, stock options. But in Germany what is typical?

What? Are there people who have to use a blackboard and chalk to write on at work or something, if they forgot to ask for a work computer in their contract?? Bet they kick themselves...
What about office chairs? or a Desk? are they normally provided free, or do you have to bring your own?
BrokenM is in academia so negotiating for computers in the US is standard otherwise you might end up with a crap one not suitable to your needs. Don't forget your admin support if you need that sort of thing and training budgets (i would try to keep travel as a separate line item if you can).

Relocation package, if relevant. (paid accommodation in new location usu. 2 weeks - 2 months depending on the company, agent costs, cover commission, removal costs etc)
If it is a consultancy, and usually if you have an MBA, then starting bonus' can be negotiated, e.g. cover costs of MBA etc.
