My favourite "Sitzpinkler" - someone who sits down to wee - basically a yellow belly coward.

my german boyfriend calls me a "faules miststueck" [sp?] and claims it's a term of endearment... SUSPECT :wink:

Here's a site I just discovered. It has long lists of curses and other disparaging phrases in any language you can imagine, except Roma (gypsy language, which could be very helpful to have).

Check out the German page if your knowledge of purple German prose is deficient. I like Cabriogeschlossenfahrer (nerd who drives his convertible with the top up).

If your German is good you will be convulsed by seven of them towards the bottom, right under Cabriogeschlossenfahrer, that sound like they came from a foreign worker low down on the societal totem pole, or some other foreigner who flunked German class.

I think some students at the University of Stuttgart had a page with clickable audio snips so you could pracitce at your desk before each meeting. Can't find the link now, tho.

To the native German lurkers (or others who know the laws): I heard somewhere that you can get in trouble if you actually use a juicy phrase on somebody. Kann man angezeigt werden, wenn man jemanden beschimpft? Several times in Germany I wanted to tell somebody what I thought if them (for cutting in line at the post office, cutting me off in traffic, whatever), which you can do with no legal risk in the US, but what about in the BRD?

Yeah, i can be charged, but I don't know how much...
Definitely never swear at a police guy "Beamtenbeleidigung" is seen as a crime in Germany

I like Vorwärtseinparker - someone who only parks if they can drive in forwards
Saunauntersitzer - someone who sits on the bottom level of the sauna cos it's too hot at the top
Turnbeutelvergesser - someone who forgets their gym stuff (deliberately) so they don't have to partake in sports at school.
Warmduscher - someone who only ever takes warm showers, cos they are too wimpy to have a good ol' stiff cold one

Arschwarze (literally: arse wart) is my favourite.
