This weekend (13-14 May), the Australian Travel show "The Great Outdoors" will be filming in Munich as a part of the lead up to the World Cup. From what I understand, they will be doing a story on the 3 cities where Australia play their first round matches.
The Arc is also on the itinerary as a place where Australians drink in Munich. They will be filming from 7pm on Sunday. Andrew Daddo (all Australians will know him) will be there. So if you're Australian and haven't sent any photos home for a while, here's an opportunity to get seen by family and friends and a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet Andrew Daddo!! Obviously, we'd like to get as many people there as possible on the night - of all nationalities. It might be your only opportunity to appear on Australian TV!!
So here's the initial post and I'll definitely do some specials (which I'll decide on later in the week) on the night.
Hope to see you there...

You are actually going to have a Daddo in the pub! To have met a Daddo in life is to die happy. This is an occasion that should be marked in an appropriate manner. The following ideas spring to mind :
1. Name a cocktail after him. "Daddo-blaster©" . It could be a mixture of Jagermeister, Australian bush and that dreadful rubbish Dr Matt promotes. Tell him that all the regular drinkers love the stuff and maybe hiis ego will take over and he"ll mention it on the program. Then when all those Aussies come over for Octoberfest, you and Jayse can clear the cellar out of all those leftover bottles by flogging “Daddo-blasters©" to the unsuspecting tourists that heard about it on the tele.
2. Have a competition to see who can name all the Daddo brothers. First prize is a free "Daddo-blaster©". second prize is 2 free "Daddo-blasters©", Third prize...
3. Have a competition for the best impression of Ernie Dingo. (Hint for beginners, Just throw in the word "mob" and a few "how ya goin’s and off you go)
The possibilities are endless.
I'm quite heartbroken that I'll still be away. The once in a lifetime opportunity to meet a Daddo. So near yet so far; 5 miserly days lie between me and a Daddo. It's a cruel world.

can you not manufacture some kind of emergency so that you can fly back a week early? and maybe go back there a week earlier than planned?

I will be there dressed as Paul Hogan when he did his awesome Comedy series in the 80's. Or maybe that sidekick person with the great cap those Lifesavers wear? Nice

I can already think of at least 10 members of the munich roos who should be banned from attending that night, purely because the great outdoors is a family show.

We should be OK - luckily it's going to be edited beforehand and not beamed live...

So we can expect 3.7 seconds of usable material then...

As most of the roos will be returning Sunday from a roadtrip/match in Strasbourg I would imagine it should be relatively calm. However, I guess there have been some exceptions to the rule.

Cameron Daddo would've been a more tempting offer but may drop by anyway...

Wonder which entertainment family has been more b-Grade: Daddo's or the Baldwins?
And why didn't Jennifer Hawkins score this gig? Still, a Daddo is better than an Ernie Dingo...

We'll be doing a couple of specials on Sunday for this.
There'll be a special Toss the boss from 6-7pm on Sunday and House Long Drinks are €3,50 all night.
Hope to see you there!!

Hi Hazza,
Just wondering ... would you be likely to air the copy one evening at the Arc? How many people (who don't have access to Aussie TV) would be interested?
I, for one, would be!
