Hi,

I'm considering buying a pair of rollerblades but have no idea what I should be looking for. The last time I had a pair was a good 7 or 8 years ago. I need something relatively inexpensive that will get me from A to B faster than walking there. Can anyone recommend a good brand/model of blades and where I can buy them?

Thanks!

As far as the different well-known brands go - I don't think there is much of a difference as far as quality goes. Rollerblade, Salomon, K2, Fila

Just make sure you have at least the ABEC 3 bearings, shouldn't be a problem I guess the quality rollerblades mostly have at least ABEC 5 anyway. ABEC 7 makes them even faster.

Also make sure you get enough ankle support, the "faster" the rollerblades the less support they offer.

Check the usual stores such as Scheck, Schuster, Bittl, Karstadt Sport (Stachus) etc.

My bf and I both use salomons and have been using the same pair for a few yrs now...u can get them at pretty much any sporting store in munich...also in the department stores' sporting goods section. They come with different sized wheels.. I think standard is around 78 to 82 and same for hardness. The bigger the wheel the faster u'll go and the soft it is the more forgiving on bumps n cracks n stuff.

I've got a pair (K2), only used them 4-5 times.. I even have all the pads and a helmet.. Size is US 9.5/10 asking price for everything is 100 Eur
