Frigging, cheating, rip-off HIT: When I buy ground beef/pork on 2 July that is "best by" 3 July and I open up the three packages on 3 July and a stench like the abbattoirs of Chicago hits my nose I wouldn't mind engaging in a bit of hitting myself.
Change of plan: No cevapcici, bacon/onion buttermilk bisquits instead, and if I get up early tomorrow morning breaded chicken nuggets as well. Clears my freezer, too.
P.S. The artichoke hearts are perfection and the cream cheese spread has tons of pizzazz!

Another brainwave: Please, please mark your containers somehow! Put down the contribution and who provided it so no one helps himself to something he actually doesn't like, and just in case a container gets left behind or goes walkabouts. Don't forget serving spoons, salad forks etc.

Holy crap, you guys! This is gonna be one helluva party! I just checked this after posting like last week and we're to 100+!!!
Hope the weather is good...

I'm "working from home" tomorrow, so will try to get there early to snag tables.

Looking forward to meeting everyone & my first TT event!

So would Brits be shot on sight? Small chance I might pop along at the start if not.
DDBug
Of course not! We are not evil and vindictive wink.gif I think we stopped shooting at Brits after they burnt down the whitehouse or something like that.
You're one of the gang anyway. Just wear levis, drink coke and eat some weird dessert concoction and you'll fit right in wink.gif
sea-king
You are not one of the gang you are a traitorous dog and will held in breach of the codes of war. Rebelious Colonists will be rained upon.
God told me this.
Signed King George. King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland; King of Hannover; prev. King of Great Britain and Ireland; Elector of Hannover and that place over the Big Water Wassisname.
Pas
With me dating an American it might be useful for me to get some cultural tips.

Thought it was Diet Coke you lot drank?

I have a theory that Al Quida have it all wrong. The quickest way to bring the US down is to bomb the Diet Coke factories.

Hang on, you, a Scotsman born and raised, recognize King George III? Who's the traitor around here?

Andy Jackson got'em back for that one (after the war was over). wink.gif

We were all loyal subjects of our Gracious Majesty and anyway we got money and free food for topping the rebels, so there.
Oh , and nice red jackets!

Pas: It's all good if you buy us all a beer and celebrate our independence from you. tongue.gif Seriously yes, you're welcome.

Tonight I went back to the store and brought more napkins and paper plates. Could one or two people volunteer to bring plasticware, especially forks? Thanks.

If any newcomers are concerned about finding a group of five score Amis, you're welcome to PM me for my mobile phone number.

And just for review: Here's the link (to the link) with directions to the Hirschgarten Biergarten. And the picture of area 2 which we'll aim to take over. Viva la revolution! Should be fun! smile.gif

She's not coming? Come sit next to me and Sara - we'll sort you out wink.gif
jen13
Not to be pessimistic, but is there an alternative location if it rains again tonight?
DDBug
Pessimist!!!

However, we could always attack the FBG and take over - but we can't bring food there.

I was just out and about, and it's actually fairly warm outside though. So I think we'll be fine.
Pas
Friendly banter aside , the location for Friday Night Drinks would probably be large enough to accommodate everybody. Might need to phone ahead if you chose to go there.

Friday night drinks
DDBug
Last resort, Pas, last resort!!!
James_Runner
Phone ahead??? They'll see us coming, and we won't shoot until we see the whites of their eyes! laugh.gif

Weather forecast seems to be possible rain this morning but dry this afternoon and clear this evening.
Pas
Is there a playground there? Plans afoot for another 4 to come along...

Well it is American Independance day, but somehow, over here, it feels like we lost, so you might as well. rolleyes.gif
Don't fear the weather, people. The forecast is for nice, partly cloudy conditions by noon today ,with only a 10% chance of rain. cool.gif
It won't be as hot as yesterday though, with highs around 73° F.

Hi all, I'm new to this site: I'm an american living in Munich since 2001 and I was just now told about Toytown from my german colleague. Incredible but true. Oh well, better late than never. And precisely for the 4th of July!!! That's great. Well I already had plans for tonight but I'll see if I can change them and come to what it seems to become a great 4th of July celebration. If I make it I'll also bring something, corn on the cob or something else. I'll be happy to meet you people. biggrin.gif
butterbean
I may come by, direct from airport, sans mini-pup (and probably sans food, unless I can stop by Edeka for some paprika chips...).
Ruthie
Corn on the cob sounds fabulous!

I unfortunately won't get there as early as planned to help hold tables, due to work. The earliest I think I can manage is about five. I will be bringing skinless chicken breasts and some cordon bleu type thingies (thawed all by myself).
DDBug

I made lemon bars last night, straight from the package, and brownies from a cake mix, but they don't look that tasty unsure.gif

Guess I'll start real cooking later.

I'll have a go at making chocolate chip cookies. There won't be enough to fee 150 people...unless we make it into a math problem. Never did like fractions, though...

"some sort of pie...perhaps walnut"
turns out to be:

2 walnut pies
oatmeal raisin cookies

So I guess I need to put myself down for the Cucumber Sandwiches and Sausage Rolls?
Toast
It looks like I can be there around 4 for table holding.
Keydeck
Tip for the top, don't stand near Toast with a pile of coins in your hand.
Ruthie
It has been brought to my attention how little people enjoy having my dog around. Since I don't want to leave him alone all night, I will bow out of this party. Have fun, folks.
Toast
Sucker. wink.gif

(edit: That wasn't directed at Ruthie.)
bern
Hell...if everyone is getting there early, I might have to jump on the bandwagon. We'll see how long it takes to make cookies...

well that's disappointing - I was looking forward to seeing him, especially since I won't have mine with me to throw a hissy fit about it.
