Schelling Salon is a great place from a historical point of view. I've been a big fan of it for decade or so. However, as a meet-up location for a group it's less than ideal due to the inability to mingle. This was mentioned by a few people the other night.

Hi all, I had a great time, and I met some really fabulous people. I won't be able to make it to the 4th of July AIM because I'll be back in the States for a while.

Hey there,
I just moved to Munich in January and am looking for something to do on the 4th of July. Don't know any Americans here yet so I have no idea whatsoever...
Also I am only 21 years old and kinda feel out of place here on the forum (I read that some of you already have kids of your own).

So does anyone here have some advice for me what I should do or where I could go?
I'm thinking of clubs, bars, or grilling and get-togethers in my age group.

Kudos to DDBug for arriving by 4ish next Friday to scope out tables. Can anyone else join her and assist in scoping out tables for 35+ people and space for food? I have a meeting until 6PM and will go straight from work to our Stammtisch. I am not gifted with baking but shall bring paper plates, plastic forks and napkins. Bringing something is not a requirement, and this is not a potluck. But it's a fun idea and thanks to the generous souls who have volunteered. Yum!

I should make it by 3 or 4pm (with harmless fireworks).
P.S. @ James: Don't bother with cutlery, we can use that provided by the Biergarten.

If I do end up going, I'll help DDBug.

I won't be bringing any food though, just enjoying the Obatzda and Brez'n at the bee garden.

Since there is no service, I recommend just writing "Reserved" on pieces of paper and tape them to a few tables real professional-like. Could be interesting to watch. It seems to work everywhere for the Euro Cup games.

Bring some red and white ribbon and wrap it around the tables. We're talking about Germans here, they'll never touch them.
