Americans in Munich Stammtisch

It's been a while, I say wait a week or three more, and go to a beer garden... fun!

I'm in. 28th or 29th March is fine by me. Not so sure the weather will cooperate for a Biergarten, but we could always go to the heated terrace back of the Augustiner Am Dom and pretend we're in a Biergarten. :-)

I don't want to usurp someone else's initiative but am willing to make a reservation at Sausalito's (Türkenstr. 50, 80799; U3/U6: Universität).
Questions: Does anyone know what time Happy Hour is? (I just tried to call, but there was no answer.) What time shall we meet? Should the reservation be limited to a certain number of people?

I am happy to have you do the dirty work, James, thank you. I would try them a bit later, as they don't have lunch service. Do let us know when Happy Hour is, then we can decide what time is good.

I think we should see how many people sign up before we make the reservation. Would make more sense that way...As far as I know, the AIM meet-ups have never been over-crowded, have they? (Says she who has never been to one)

Bummer -- would love to attend but will be out of town that night. Hopefully I'll be able to catch the next one. Have fun!

Update concerning reservation: Here is an update concerning our reservation for 18.00 Uhr on Friday, March 28 at the Sausalito's in Schwabing (Türkenstr. 50, 80799; U3/U6: Universität). Happy hour (with 1/2 price coctails) is between 17.00 and 20.00. The manager asked me how many people, so I gave a preliminary number of 25. This can probably be increased; please PM me if we're more than 25 and you're 26 or higher on the list. The manager also asked if we want both drinks and food (as opposed to just drinks), and I said yes. The reservation is under the name "Toytuwn" (which reflects my attempt to spell auf Deutsch with music in the background).

Right, and whether it's a smaller or larger group isn't so important. Last night the manager needed a number to put into the computer, so I gave a high-ish number. The manager said he would call me 4 days in advance to confirm the number (which would be on Easter Monday). Prost!

There's a bowling alley across from my office - Bavaria Bowling I believe in the Lazarettstr (U1, Maillingerstr). I can get us plenty of free gated parking. we'd just hafta arrive + leave near the same time so I can let any drivers in/out with the key.

My is that obscure for newbies. My translation work has come in so I can't show, but I am interested. And I have bowled several strikes in my time too. Not more than once a year though.
