I've searched, but can't find a poll re. Daniel Craig as the new James Bond.

We had one and most decided he made a crappy James Blonde.

I disagree though - give him a go!

Maybe the violence and obligatory "oh James" moments will make up for it.

Looks OK. Nice to see a proper Aston Martin in there too. Perhaps Craig will be OK afterall. If he learns to drive a stick shift.

Me likey. It seems to have a slightly darker feel to it so we will see. I reckon he deserves a chance.

Precisely what I was thinking. Would be good to have a slightly moodier Bond this time around. I'm actually quite looking forward to it.

Apparently MI3 is proving to be a worthy competitor from what I have heard.

Yeah - that comes out here today, so I might pop along and see that next week. On the subject of films I saw 'Crash' and 'The Constant Gardener' over the weekend - they're both superb. Well worth a watch.

MI3 got a thumbs down from Bayern 2 this morning, loads of stunts but a plot thinner than a very thin thing.

Constant Gardener is fantastic, she looks so in love, really heartbreaking.
For suitable amounts of carnage, why not try "A History of Violence"? Beautfully acted but with jaw-dropping deaths. Perfect for a relaxing evening following a bad day at work.
And I think Daniel will be good.

think bond going back to roots ala batman returns rather than a sequal. also nice to see bond being played as he should (an educated thug) like how he was written in the flemming books rather than the ponce with gadgets ala the latest crop of bonds

Nice trailer, but nope, doesn't look like a Bond at all. Timothy Dalton was also a bad choice. I guess now it is up to the writers, director and editors to pull this off.

Daniel Craig has the acting ability to be the best ever. In fact the first proper actor to get the part.
My money's on him delivering.

Bond has to be smarmy with a cruel streak and not take himself too serious. Daniel Craig doesn't look like that but the trailer may not have much to do with the actual film.

Should be worth watching for the guns, the gadgets, the geraniums and the girlies though.

At the end of the day, James Bond is nothing more than a paid assassin so the darker the better I reckon.

True! But we havn't seen Craig yet! He's got the potential to be the best (at least better compared to Connerys succesors)! My money is on him giving a brilliant performance!

Beg to differ. Timothy Dalton is widely considered as an extremely gifted (notably Shakesperean) actor.

Casino Royale is currently being filmed in Karlsbad. They've remodeled a large part of the city to look like Montecarlo.

If you hurry you can still get in as an extra.

They are shooting every bloody movie in CZ these days... even cheaper than shooting in Canada.

No matter what the plot (or cast), the Bond franchise and the MI franchise both have incredible theme music. Competition indeed.

A great Bond I agree but Sean Connery plays Sean Connery in every movie he's ever made bless 'im.


Timothy Dalton, although classically trained, couldn't lace George Lazenby's drinks as Bond.
He was indeed a piss poor 007. The new bloke at least has the gravitas and experience to act a tough guy. IMHO

Looks like it might be a bit more grown-up than some previous Bond flicks. No bad thing - I thought the last one was pretty average tbh, and mainly because it became quite childish.

Looks great, he looks and sounds great, a lot less campy than before plus seeing as that is Eva Green, I almost didn't recognise her with her clothes on.

I was thinking the same too. The last bond movie was a bad parody of a parody of a bond movie. If you know what I mean. I dont want moon bases, or ice palaces... I want bond kicking the bad guys ass and to see a load of hot chicks in next to nothing. A few russians doing their thing is always nice too.

The last 15 seconds of the trailer got me interested. At first it looked like it could be boring, then we got a sneak at what could be some pretty cool action scenes. I liked that image of the Venetian palace falling down.

this could be the best bond for ages. seems a dry script, and if im not mistaken from how that trailer worked, is there a revenge trip in there too? he does look like three lions though.

I will review the trailer - if he looks like 3 Lions I will immediately boycott the film. James Bond - from Oldham? Shurely shome mishtake.

I have reviewed it and my Hungarian slave worker (*waves at Kay*) thinks Craig is 'ugly'. So maybe he does look like 3 Lions.
