Along the lines of "My name is Bondo, Jimbo Bondo" ?
QUOTE (Jimbo @ Sep 14 2006, 2:07 pm)

Only my family traces it's roots back to somewhere in that neck of the woods. *pouts*. I knew it. I should be the next James Bond.
Would that be Bondić, Bondycz or Bondógy?

Bondex would definitely open up sponsorship and product placement opportunities, while Bondage would tie in well with the more restrained among us.
I can see the remakes now "Tie another day", "The spy who glued me",
Why settle for half Yeti, go all out: Ties that Bind.

I have reviewed it and my Hungarian slave worker (*waves at Kay*) thinks Craig is 'ugly'.

Anyway nice to see that he wrecks a very nice looking motor at the end of the trailer because of a bound black-clad Bond girl on the tarmac.
Ugly, perhaps. Brutal, I hope so. A gentleman ? Occasionally.
The half monk, half hitman tag would fit 3 Lions though.

Yes better to avoid that. as a lapsed Catholic I know how quickly it can lead to cheap belgian films of "The spy who lubed me" ilk.

Initially, I was heavily anti-Daniel Craig.
But I just have to say - after I saw these pictures, I decided that Craig as the new Bond wasn't such a bad idea.
New 007 Daniel Craig has even the ladies shaken and stirredQUOTE
"There's an intense sexuality about Daniel," says co-producer Barbara Broccoli. "It was just a scene in the script - Bond is in the water doing surveillance - but when he came out of the sea, I actually gasped! The women on the crew had their mouths open!"
I'll be at the premiere next week. Purely for the dialogue, of course.

Oi Saint, that guy isn't exactly my taste either. But at least he's not blond and doesn't look like a goon dressed up in a suit.

I also heared he only says "my name is Bond, James Bond" at the very end.

Probably drinks cola-light instead of a vodka-martini, shaken not stirred. What is this world coming to? Why can one not even take delight in these simple things anymore. Mope mope moan complain sulk.

To dissappoint you more, this is what bond says about his drinks:
QUOTE
TURNING to face the world's most famous superspy, the bartender asks: "Shaken or stirred, sir?"
"Do I look like I give a damn?" comes James Bond's icy reply
But the
reviews from all the british newspapers have been pretty good till now.

I saw a trailer on TV this morning. They explained that this one is supposed to be a prequel to all other Bond films and so set in his formative years. Hence his ambivalence over drinks, relative insecurity with women etc.
That kind of stuff sounds far too cerebral for a Bond film to me.

The official opening of
Casino Royale in Germany is tomorrow - Thursday 23.Nov.2006.
Many cinemas are running a preview showing tonight, including the
UCI Kinowelt theatres in Berlin, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Leipzig, Cologne, Potsdam. Shows start at 8pm.
Cinema München is previewing at the same time.
It'd probably be best to leave your cell phones at home, unless you're patient enough to
surrender them before entry. Having said that, they might not be checking. I've seen copies of the movie on
BitTorrent, so it's already too late for piracy prevention measures.
Hands up if you're seeing the movie tonight.

Errr... isn't it based on the book of the same name? Thought most bond fans would know the plot already.
Reviews, that state "Forget the past, this is the new Bond" when the film is based on the first book, make me laugh.
That's not to say that I am really excited about seeing the film.

I'm probably going to see this tonight here in Nottingham, mainly because my mum wants to. I don't really understand what the fuss is about. Most of the Bond films are the same story with minor variables changed, and all of the recent ones have been shite if we really want to be honest with ourselves.
I know, I know ... it hurts, but it's true.
