Yesterday morning I heard my screen door slam

"All that is very well, but let us cultivate our Biergarten." (Apologies to those who would prefer the quote in the original French. The ugly American prefers it this way.)

The weather this Friday is supposed to be lovely, so I'm biergartening. All and sundry are welcome to join me.

Time roughly 5:30. Location is Taxisgarten. How to get there and so forth is on the link. No idea where we'll be sitting, but if anyone would like to come, PM me and you'll get my mobile number. Don't have a mobile? (bless you) PM me and we'll sort something out.

And when it get to dark/cold, head over to TT Fridays for the Cince De mayo Mexican night out...

"Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what youve got till its gone,
A biergarten helles and some bread shaped into a knot.."

you lucky buggers, there's not a tree insight here, yet alone a biergarten sad.gif
Topsy
you'll be home soon, bucket, then we'll take you to a beer garden, nicely, and lead you astray biggrin.gif

Why do I keep thinkin' the name Joni?
Carm
UpQuark- so you can do both, why not use the Flaucher Beergarten, then you can also join the TTChillout Drinks at Cinqo di Mayo at Tres Hombres (just a thought). smile.gif

Apologies. Meant to say that this should in no way interfere with the hallowed two week old institution of Friday drinks. As anyone who knows me can tell you, I tend to prefer cocktails in the privacy of my own home (where no strangers can see me tip back a bottle of gin like some skid row bum), or when someone else is paying, so I tend to opt for beer or wine in public. Those who want to get their Mexican on should have no trouble finding their way to Friday drinks- Munich has an efficient and world class public transport system. This is of course presuming that the privilege of watching me guzzle a mug of beer is temptation enough to have them forego margaritas in the first place. Moreover, I'm not familiar with Flaucher and can't think of a clever song reference for the the thread title. I'll not be attending both, but would strongly encourage anyone conflicted about the surfeit of choice to do so.

Either because you've caught the transparent reference or because you happen to be named Chachi. Or maybe I'm just suffering from optimism.

UpQuark, it was botherin' me for hours. I knew I knew it from somewhere. My ex-missus was a big Joni Mitchell fan. Now I've been to the odd gig over my time. But picture me at a Joan Baez concert. It happened. I am as appalled with myself now as I was back then standin' in the audience and askin' myself what the hell I was doin' there. The ex-missus though she had me tamed at that point.

And when you have finished with the biergarten and the mexican thing then you can come to Karaoke...
*needs to plead with the mods to get a karaoke sign up sheet*

I call your Joan Baez and raise it with a Barry Manilow (took me ol' mum). He writes the songs don't you know. Facking purgatory.

That's probably becuase he buggered up the lyric. It's, "late last night, I heard the screen door slam.."

Look on the bright side: At least UpQuark's women leave and slam the screen door on the morning after. wink.gif

Do'h! This is what happens when I fail to look something up. At least I got the Voltaire right. Or did I?

It will do, Candide is my favourite book you know. Actually it isn't a book but a lifestyle.

Cela est bien dit, répondit Candide, mais il faut cultiver notre jardin.

Anyone else arriving before 5:30? Unless I hear otherwise, I'll get there by then and wait for others to show up. If no one wants to hassle with frequent and chaotic SMSes I'll be at the Maypole near the entrance (fairly sure that's the only one) contentedly drinking a beer.
Gen
I might be there earlier, but I'll have a book with me.
Showem
I'll probably head over there in the next hour, with the in-law.
Topsy
it's looking increasingly like i'll have to work late tonight - might show up later on, though...

From 5.30 till when?

If I leave work early enough (big if with spelt with a capital "quite unlikely") then I'll head over before going on to the Mexican thing.

5:30 until the spirit moves me. The spirit will move me to leave within the next 30 minutes.
