British solicitors in Germany

Recommendations for making an executors oath

Afternoon, this maybe a daft question but I am trying to avoid an unnecessary trip to the UK if possible.

I was made an executor of a will of a relative. Although everything is very straight forward (it’s even below the tax limit) I am required to make an executors oath at a solicitors office. Does anyone know if it is possible to do this in Germany or will it be required to go back to the UK?

If nobody reading this knows the answer to your question, your best bet would be to enquire with a local lawyer.

Whereabouts are you located? Perhaps someone can recommended an English-speaking lawyer in your neighbourhood.

I think you may be able to do this at a British Consulate:

I am in Stuttgart (Have updated my details now, they must have been lost in the board changes) so if anyone knows someone please let me know!

I have emailed them to ask them the question. Thanks for that. I see there are lists of English speaking solictors etc. on there for Frankfurt and Munich. I may pick one at random and see if they offer the service.

Just be careful it doesn't end up costing a lot more to do it here than it would cost you to fly to England to do it.
